The Republican Party has a loyalty problem.
But it's not the kind Democrats like to claim.
And JD Vance just exposed what beltway Republicans care about more than America.
Vice President JD Vance dropped a bombshell on the Washington establishment Monday that left beltway Republicans scrambling for cover.
In a scathing post on social media, Vance called out establishment Republicans for caring more about Ukraine than their own country.
And the timing couldn't be more perfect because while Americans are drowning in problems right here at home, old-guard Republicans like Mitch McConnell and Lindsey Graham are losing their minds over Trump's plan to end the war in Ukraine.
Vance Puts the Beltway GOP on Blast
Vance laid out the laundry list of crises facing everyday Americans that these Republicans seem to ignore.
Home prices have doubled — sometimes tripled — under the Biden-Harris disaster, pricing young families out of the American Dream entirely.
A welfare fraud scandal in Minnesota shows Somalian immigrants aren't just refusing to assimilate, they're literally funneling American taxpayer dollars to Al-Shabaab, an Islamic terrorist organization.¹
An innocent woman was set on fire in Chicago by a man with 72 prior arrests while the Democrat mayor fights federal law enforcement trying to help.²
The Obamacare system is collapsing under its own incompetence.
And America's $38 trillion in debt keeps climbing while Congress spends like drunken sailors.
But here's what really fired up the beltway GOP — Trump's 28-point plan to finally end the war between Russia and Ukraine.
"But you know what really fires up the beltway GOP?" Vance wrote. "Not any of the above. Instead, the political class is really angry that the Trump administration may finally bring a four year conflict in Eastern Europe to a close."³
"But the level of passion over this one issue when your own country has serious problems is bonkers. It disgusts me. Show some passion for your own country," Vance continued.³
McConnell, Graham, and Mississippi Senator Roger Wicker all publicly opposed Trump's peace plan, claiming it would reward Russia and hurt Ukraine.
McConnell went so far as to suggest Trump should "find new advisors" if his team is "more concerned with appeasing Putin than securing real peace."⁴
Graham said parts of the plan are "very problematic" even though he's supposed to be Trump's ally.⁵
These are the same Republicans who spent years lecturing conservatives about "peace through strength" while Biden-Harris let the world burn.
The Peace Plan That Has War Hawks Panicking
Trump's 28-point peace proposal represents the first real attempt to end this catastrophic conflict that's dragged on for years.
The plan requires both sides to make concessions — Ukraine would agree to certain territorial arrangements while Russia would agree to halt hostilities.
President Trump told reporters Monday that "something good" could be on the horizon regarding the peace talks.³
But establishment Republicans are having a complete meltdown because they've built entire political identities around being Ukraine war hawks.
These same politicians had no problem with Biden's disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal that killed 13 American service members.
They stayed quiet while Biden printed trillions of dollars, causing inflation to skyrocket and destroy Americans' purchasing power.
But dare suggest ending a foreign war that's cost American taxpayers billions, and suddenly they find their voices.
Texas Representative Michael McCaul told ABC that Zelenskyy shouldn't sign the deal unless there are more "ironclad" security guarantees — as if America's security guarantees have meant anything lately.³
Wicker claimed the plan has "real problems" and that Ukraine shouldn't give up lands to Putin.³
Here's what these establishment types don't get — or pretend not to get.
Vance Highlights What Actually Matters
While Graham and McConnell obsess over Eastern European borders, Vance pointed to what's happening in American cities.
The Minnesota welfare scandal is even worse than most people realize.
Federal counterterrorism sources confirmed that millions of dollars in fraudulent welfare funds were sent to Somalia, where they ended up financing Al-Shabaab terrorists.¹
One confidential source put it bluntly: "The largest funder of Al-Shabaab is the Minnesota taxpayer."¹
This happened under Democrat Governor Tim Walz's watch — the same Tim Walz who was Kamala Harris's running mate.
Minnesota's Medicaid Housing Stabilization Services program was supposed to cost $2.6 million in its first year but paid out more than $21 million.¹
The costs exploded to $42 million, then $74 million, then $104 million in subsequent years before the state finally shut it down in August after discovering widespread fraud.¹
Six of the eight people federally charged in the housing fraud scheme are of Somali descent.⁶
The fraud extends beyond just housing assistance to autism services and food aid programs, with prosecutors saying these schemes "form a web that has stolen billions of dollars in taxpayer money."⁶
Then there's Bethany MaGee in Chicago, set on fire on a train by Lawrence Reed, who had accumulated 72 prior arrests but was still walking the streets thanks to Democrat soft-on-crime policies.²
Democrat Mayor Brandon Johnson is actively fighting federal help to clean up his dangerous city.
These are the issues affecting real Americans every single day.
But McConnell, Graham, and their establishment cronies can barely muster a press release about them while they flood the airwaves with passionate defenses of Ukraine's borders — borders they care about more than America's southern border that's been wide open for years.
The hypocrisy is stunning even by Washington standards.
Trump won a historic mandate in November because Americans are sick of politicians who prioritize foreign countries over their own citizens.
The President promised to end endless wars, secure the border, and put America First.
Vance is doing exactly what voters elected him and Trump to do — calling out the establishment and forcing them to answer for their priorities.
And the establishment's response proves Vance's point perfectly.
They're more concerned with maintaining the status quo in Washington, D.C. and keeping the war machine funded than solving the crises destroying American families.
The beltway GOP just showed its true colors, and Americans are taking notes.
