James Comer Cut Off The Clintons The Moment They Made This Ridiculous Demand

Jan 23, 2026

The Clintons think they're above the law.

They've been dodging a congressional subpoena for months with every excuse in the book.

And James Comer cut off the Clintons the moment they made this ridiculous demand.

Comer rejects absurd offer from Clinton lawyers

House Oversight Chairman James Comer rejected an outrageous proposal from Bill and Hillary Clinton's legal team that would have let them dodge accountability for defying congressional subpoenas about Jeffrey Epstein.

The Clintons wanted Comer to fly to New York for a private chat with Bill Clinton only.

No other Members of Congress allowed.

No official transcript.

Just Comer and ranking Democrat Robert Garcia with two staffers each having an off-the-record conversation.

Comer told them to shove it.

"The Clintons' latest demands make clear they believe their last name entitles them to special treatment," Comer said in a statement rejecting the offer.

The committee subpoenaed both Clintons last August for testimony about what they knew regarding Epstein's sex trafficking operation and when they knew it.

Bill Clinton flew on Epstein's private jet multiple times in the early 2000s.

Photos released by the Justice Department show Clinton traveling internationally with Epstein and his accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell between 2002 and 2003.

One image even shows Clinton getting a massage from an Epstein victim.

The Clintons have blown off three scheduled deposition dates since October.

They claim they already provided everything they know in written declarations and that the subpoenas are "legally invalid."

But Comer isn't buying the act.

"The House Oversight Committee's bipartisan subpoenas require the Clintons to appear for depositions that are under oath and transcribed," Comer explained.

The committee voted Wednesday to hold both Clintons in contempt of Congress.

Clinton's history of parsing words under oath

Comer pointed out Bill Clinton has a track record of word games when testifying.

"Former President Clinton has a documented history of parsing language to evade questions, responded falsely under oath, and was impeached and suspended from the practice of law as a result," Comer said.

That's not hyperbole.

In 1998, the House impeached Clinton for perjury after he lied under oath about his sexual relationship with White House intern Monica Lewinsky during a sexual harassment lawsuit.

Clinton famously argued over the meaning of the word "is" during grand jury testimony.

Judge Susan Webber Wright later found Clinton in civil contempt of court for his "willful failure" to testify truthfully and fined him $90,000.

The Arkansas Supreme Court suspended his law license.

Clinton was acquitted by the Senate but the damage to his credibility was permanent.

Now he's pulling the same stunt with Congress over Epstein.

Everyone else subpoenaed either testified or worked with the committee to schedule depositions.

Only the Clintons think they're too important to comply.

The committee accommodated Hillary Clinton twice when she claimed she needed to attend funerals.

But when Comer asked for alternative dates in January, the Clintons refused to provide any.

They just kept stalling.

Democrats exposed as hypocrites on contempt

The contempt vote puts Democrats in an impossible position.

Ranking Member Robert Garcia previously said defying a congressional subpoena is "highly illegal" and "no one is above the law."

Those were his exact words when Republicans faced contempt charges.

Now Garcia has to either vote to hold fellow Democrats accountable or prove he's a complete hypocrite.

Not a single Democrat showed up to either of the Clintons' scheduled depositions last week.

Zero.

They knew the Clintons weren't coming and didn't want to be caught on camera waiting for them.

Hillary Clinton served as Secretary of State when the government was supposed to be countering international sex trafficking rings.

She knew Ghislaine Maxwell personally and attended an intimate dinner with her in 2014 — three years after public reports about Maxwell's role in Epstein's crimes.

Maxwell's nephew even worked for Hillary's 2008 presidential campaign and got hired by the State Department after she became Secretary.

The Clintons claim they're fighting for "this country, its principles and its people."

What they're really fighting for is the right to ignore Congress whenever it's inconvenient.

Steve Bannon and Peter Navarro both went to prison in 2024 for defying January 6 committee subpoenas.

If they had to comply, the Clintons should too.

The full House is expected to vote on the contempt resolutions in the coming days.

If the resolution passes, the case goes to the Justice Department for prosecution.
