James Carville Just Told America Exactly What Democrats Plan to Do to Trump and His Family

The 81-year-old Democratic strategist posted a video to social media Tuesday that should alarm every American who cares about equal justice under the law.

"When the Democrats get back in office in January, they're going right after the corruption," Carville said.

Then he got specific.

"We're gonna find out all the money that has gone the wrong way and we're gonna have a legal proceeding and we're gonna have what you call a clawback," he said. "We're going to get to go out, get the money, give it back to the people of the United States."

This isn't Carville guessing at what Democrats might do.

This is Carville announcing what they intend to do.

The mechanism he's describing – a legislative "clawback" to seize assets from the Trump family – would be an unprecedented weaponization of congressional power against a sitting president's personal finances.

Democrat Lawfare Against Trump Has Been Running Since 2016

Carville has been on this track for weeks.

In a March 31 video, he dropped the mask entirely.

"They're going to start figuring out where all the money stolen is," he said. "Then they're going to go after your stupid jackass kids and their spouses and all the other bullshit that you see, and they're going to investigate the shit out of you."

That's not oversight. That's a vendetta.

He also predicted Trump would be impeached in 2027, floated leaving Trump exposed to the International Criminal Court in The Hague, and named Senator Sheldon Whitehouse as the man standing by with subpoenas.

The Democrats' plan, in Carville's own telling, isn't about accountability. It's about destruction.

Letitia James Used This Same Playbook and Now Faces Fraud Charges

Carville isn't inventing this strategy. He's describing what already happened.

New York Attorney General Letitia James announced during her 2018 campaign that she planned to investigate Trump – before a single charge had been filed, before a single piece of evidence had been reviewed.

She sued Trump in September 2022 over real estate valuations, and Judge Arthur Engoron ordered Trump to pay $354 million, with additional penalties pushing the total over $450 million.

Real estate experts told the Daily Caller News Foundation that Engoron's ruling vastly undervalued Mar-a-Lago – a property some assessed at more than $250 million.

The appeals court later wiped the financial penalty while upholding the underlying fraud finding.

Now Carville is calling for a national version of what Letitia James ran in New York – except this time out of Congress, aimed at Trump's entire family, using a clawback to strip money from people who haven't been convicted of anything.

James herself now faces federal mortgage fraud charges for allegedly lying about her plans for a Virginia property to obtain favorable loan terms – the same category of conduct she used to target Trump.

Carville Predicted a Harris Win With Certainty and Was Wrong

Here's what makes Carville's confident predictions worth examining carefully.

In October 2024, he published a New York Times op-ed titled "Three Reasons I'm Certain Kamala Harris Will Win." He was wrong on all three counts.

He has since admitted publicly, "The truth of the matter is, I'm not a very good predictor of elections."

The man now detailing Democrats' revenge agenda predicted a Trump collapse "within 30 days" in February 2025. It never came.

His predictions about what Democrats will do, though – those deserve attention. Because he's not guessing. He's describing the plan from inside the party that built it.

Democrats tried prosecutorial pressure, financial penalties, and criminal indictments to stop Trump before voters returned him to the White House in a landslide. None of it worked.

Now the man who helped architect the Clinton political machine is promising they'll try it all again – and take the family down with him.
