J.D. Vance is leaning into a role as Donald Trump’s attack dog against Kamala Harris.
Harris provides a target rich environment.
And J.D. Vance wrecked Kamala Harris by stating one simple fact.
J.D. Vance blasts Harris on shifting identity
During J.D. Vance’s campaign swing through Arizona, a CNN reporter cornered him with a gotcha question about Donald Trump’s comments about Kamala Harris.
The reporter tried to get Vance to condemn Trump by asking Vance if the fact that he has three bi-racial children gave her pause with regards to Trump’s comments.
“They don’t give me pause at all,” Vance shot back.
Vance explained that Harris is a chameleon who shifts her identity based on who she’s talking to, citing how Harris adopted a fake southern accent when she spoke at a rally in Georgia.
“Look, all he said is that Kamala Harris is a chameleon. She goes to Georgia two days ago. She was raised in Canada, she puts on a fake southern accent. She is everything to everybody and she pretends to be somebody different depending on which audience she’s in front of. I think it’s totally reasonable for the president to call that out. And that’s all he did,” Vance began.
The CNN reporter then asked Vance if serving as Donald Trump’s running mate after previously criticizing him meant he was also a chameleon.
Vance destroys CNN’s narrative
Vance took this attempt at a gotcha question and knocked it out of the park, explaining that he made comments about Trump ten years ago that he realized were wrong after meeting with Trump and actually getting to know him.
“Look, I criticized Donald Trump 10 years ago and we’ve talked about it, and I’ve made a good argument to the American people about why I think he was a great president and why I think he deserves reelection. That’s different than going to Georgia two days ago and putting on a fake other accident when you were raised in Canada,” Vance added.
Vance then drove the knife, saying that was far different than Kamala Harris having an anonymous aide issue a statement to a media outlet claiming she no longer supports confiscating guns, banning fracking, limiting red meat consumption or eliminating private health insurance.
“So, I think it’s totally reasonable to change your mind. Has Kamala Harris stood for a tough debate with you and explained why she wanted to ban fracking and now she doesn’t? Or why she wanted to fund the police and now she doesn’t? Or why she wanted to open the border, but now she doesn’t? It’s reasonable to change your mind. It’s not reasonable to run and hide from the media and not answer the American people’s questions,” Vance continued.
This is the frame of Kamala Harris that the Trump campaign wants.
Trump’s team wants voters to see Harris as an establishment puppet installed by the elites at the top of the Democrat ticket because she believes in nothing.
