All hell broke loose in Washington, D.C. after Elon Musk dismantled the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
Most Americans know very little about what Elon Musk described as a “criminal organization” full of “radical-left marxists who hate America.”
But this is how DOGE struck a Deep State nerve by shuttering USAID.
Trump’s not wasting any time in his second term
“President Trump is in charge – and America is back!”
That’s how Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt kicked off the White House Press Conference on Wednesday.
Leavitt is right – the first two weeks of Donald Trump’s Presidency have been nothing short of astonishing.
Trump went to work on Day One, reversing Joe Biden’s disastrous policies and making good on many of the promises he made to voters on the campaign trail.
Within hours of taking office on January 20, Trump signed 118 executive orders, actions, and memoranda.
78 of the orders reversed many of Biden’s failed policies like his COVID mandates, restoring freedom of speech and ending federal censorship, withdrawing from the WHO, declaring a national emergency at the border, and many others.
He started his mass deportation program and pardoned the January 6 and pro-life prisoners locked up by Joe Biden’s corrupt Justice Department.
Trump also established the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and tasked Elon Musk with running it.
Just like his boss, Musk hit the ground running and had ended billions of dollars in wasteful spending within the first 80 hours.
“In the first 80 hours, approx $420M of current/impending contracts have been cancelled. 2 leases have also been cancelled,” DOGE announced on X. “Initial focus is mainly on DEI contracts and unoccupied buildings.”

On January 28, DOGE announced it was saving Americans $1 billon per day.
“DOGE is saving the Federal Government approx. $1 billion/day, mostly from stopping the hiring of people into unnecessary positions, deletion of DEI and stopping improper payments to foreign organizations, all consistent with the President’s Executive Orders,” DOGE wrote. “A good start, though this number needs to increase to > $3 billion/day.”

But it was when DOGE focused on the USAID that all hell broke loose in the Washington, D.C. Swamp.
DOGE struck a Deep State nerve
Most Americans know very little about the USAID, if anything at all.
As former Congressman Ron Paul explained, “Many Americans may still have the idea that USAID is a government agency delivering relief at disaster sites overseas.”
But the USAID has drifted far from its intended purpose when John Kennedy created it in 1961.
The modern USAID has evolved into a CIA front for statecraft that funnels billions of dollars into radical left-wing groups and organizations around the world.
During a Twitter Spaces on Sunday, Musk discussed the previous day’s decision to place two security officials at USAID on administrative leave for refusing to grant DOGE staffers access to the systems at the agency.
Elon Musk responded to Democrats on social media.
Musk announced that “we’re in the process” of “shutting down USAID.”
He said Trump agreed to shutter the agency.
“With regard to the USAID stuff, I went over [it] with him in detail, and he agreed that we should shut it down,” Musk said. “I actually checked with him a few times [and] said, ‘Are you sure?’”
“Yes,” he said Trump responded.
“He agreed we should shut it down,” Musk said.
“It became apparent that it’s not an apple with a worm in it,” he continued. “What we have is just a ball of worms – you’ve got to basically get rid of the whole thing.”
“It’s beyond repair,” he added. “We’re shutting it down.”
Democrats and the media are in a frenzy over DOGE shuttering the USAID
So why all the hoopla?
The USAID is the center foundation of the Deep State’s regime change operations all across the globe.
“USAID spends billions of dollars every year propping up ‘NGOs’ overseas that function as shadow governments, eating away at elected governments that the US interventionists want to overthrow,” former Congressman Ron Paul wrote about USAID.
“Behind most US foreign policy disasters overseas you will see the fingerprints of USAID,” he continued. “From Ukraine to Georgia and far beyond, USAID is meddling in the internal affairs of foreign countries – something that would infuriate Americans if it was happening to us.”
Paul went on to point out that the USAID funds the left-wing media in the United States and around the world.
According to Paul, “90 percent of the media outlets are funded by the US government!”
These media outlets exist to parrot the regime’s propaganda to fool Americans into supporting their meddling in foreign affairs.
USAID bankrolled POLITICO and numerous other media outlets, but those days are over now that Trump is President.
“I can confirm that the more than $8 million taxpayer dollars that have gone to essentially subsidizing subscriptions to POLITICO will no longer be happening,” Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt announced Wednesday. “The DOGE team is working on canceling those payments now.”
“We are going line by line when it comes to the federal government’s books,” she added.

Glenn Beck called the USAID a CIA front group and noted the connection between George Soros and the USAID.
“USAID had been giving millions to the Macedonian arm of George Soros’ Open Society Foundation” in order “to train youth movements,” Beck told his audience. “USAID comes into a country, they start doing things, and next thing you know, we’ve got a revolution on our hands because – that’s the CIA.”

Samantha Power ran the USAID under Joe Biden’s Presidency.
“Samantha Power — the Biden administration’s USAID administrator and former U.S. ambassador to the UN under former President Barack Obama’s tenure — was discovered to have repeatedly met with left-wing groups such as George Soros’ Open Society Foundations while serving as the foreign aid agency’s administrator,” Fox Digital reported in 2023.
USAID even potentially played a role in the pandemic
It poured more than $53 million into Fauci’s EcoHealth Alliance in order to fund gain of function research on coronaviruses at the Wuhan lab in China.
But USAID does more than start revolutions for regime change.
USAID funnels money to fight the culture war the woke Left has been waging on America and the world for the past few years.
DOGE reported on X that “USAID spends $40B+ of taxpayer dollars to fund foreign aid” through “$45mm to DEI scholarships in Burma,” “$520mm for consultant-driven ESG investments in Africa,” and “$1.2bn in awards to undisclosed recipients.”

“$7.9 million to teach Sri Lankan journalists how to avoid “binary-gendered language,” “$20 million for a new Sesame Street show in Iraq,” “$4.5+ million to ‘combat disinformation’ in Kazakhstan,” “$1.5 million for ‘art for inclusion of people with disabilities,’” “$6 million to ‘transform digital spaces to reflect feminist democratic principles,’” and “$6.3 million for men who have sex with men in South Africa.”
Of course, that’s just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the USAID’s woke spending.

The reality is that the USAID is a corrupt organization that wastes billions of taxpayer dollars.
And it has been for years.
“A 2019 report that surveyed three years of USAID spending found that 43 percent of the agency’s awards achieved, on average, just half of their intended results,” Foreign Policy wrote in May of 2021.
But Elon Musk and Donald Trump are taking a sledgehammer to the corrupt USAID.
Ron Paul called the move “one of the most significant changes President Trump has made among many dramatic actions in his first couple of weeks in office.”
Donald Trump hasn’t even been in office for a month and he’s already achieved more than most expected.

Responding to a common refrain from the Left, Nancy H. remarked, “When the libs scream about Musk not being elected and has no right to clean house, I wish someone would ask them (on air), what gives the UNELECTED bureaucrats the right to make laws and rules that they have not been elected to do. Someone needs to throw all that back in their faces.”
