Hooters became one of the most popular sports bars for its wings and waitresses.
The chain has come under fire for not going along with the Left’s woke agenda.
And Hooters has the woke outrage mob in an uproar after it was hit with an awful lawsuit.
Hooters sued for not hiring a transgender waitress
Hooters used a simple formula to become one of the most successful sports bars in the country.
The chain had busty waitresses wearing skimpy outfits serving up favorites like chicken wings.
Unfortunately, that combination is a problem for some on the Left.
A Hooters location in Colonie, New York, became the target of left-wing protesters over its decision not to hire a transgender woman as one of its waitresses.
Transgender woman Brandy Livingston was allegedly a long-time customer of the Colonie location outside of Albany, New York.
She claimed that she ran into problems at the Hooters after she transitioned to being a woman.
“They would use male pronouns,” Livingston told 10 News. “They would refer to me as he.”
But that wasn’t enough to discourage Livingston from pursuing a job as one of the chain’s waitresses.
Livingston applied three times for a waitress position at the Colonie Hooters despite being unhappy with the treatment at the restaurant.
“I said, do you want to see my experience or anything? Because I had previous jobs I had written down. And he said, ‘Oh, we don’t care about experience. We hire on the basis of personality. And there’s an image that needs to be met,'” Livingston explained.
Now, Livingston is suing Hooters for “sex-based discrimination” under New York state law.
“I’m suing Hooters for sex-based discrimination, on the basis of accommodation and on the basis of employment,” Livingston said.
Hooters has to defend itself in front of kangaroo court
The lawsuit was filed with the New York State Division of Human Rights.
And the division found that there was enough evidence under New York Executive Law 296 that Livingston could move forward with the case.
Hooters disputed Livingston’s claims and noted that the would-be waitress was asked not to return to the location because of bad behavior toward the staff.
Livingston reportedly made a violent threat to return to the location after a trip to the shooting range and made sexually explicit comments at the waitresses.
“My mom would take me to the gun range and for clay pigeon shooting, trap. I feel like one of the servers might have overheard what me and my dad were talking about and misunderstood what we were talking about,” Livingston claimed
Hooters and Livingston will have a hearing before the New York State Division of Human Rights next year.
Livingston claimed that the suit wasn’t about money.
“What I really want, is an apology. I’m never going to get that,” Livingston said.
Hooters faces protests outside the restaurant from transgender activists because of its alleged treatment of Livingston.
There is no institution in the country that is safe from the wrath of the woke outrage mob.
