And Hillary Clinton and Nina Jankowicz joined forces with globalists to censor Americans in this shocking attack on free speech.
Former disinformation czar calls America an “autocracy” before European Parliament
The European Union has been ramping up its aggressive campaign against free speech, particularly targeting American companies and individuals who refuse to comply with their expansive censorship demands.
And they’re finding willing American partners to help them do it.
Nina Jankowicz, the former head of President Biden’s disbanded Disinformation Governance Board, appeared before the European Parliament this week with a shocking message.
Instead of addressing Russian disinformation as expected, Jankowicz turned her sights on her own country.
“Before I describe the details of Russia’s recent online influence campaigns, I would like to call upon you to stand firm against another autocracy: The United States of America,” Jankowicz told European lawmakers.
The self-styled “Mary Poppins of disinformation” has found a new audience for her anti-American rhetoric after leaving the Biden administration.
Fox News legal analyst Jonathan Turley described the moment as part of a disturbing trend of “disgruntled Democrats” and “disinformation experts” seeking positions in Europe after being left jobless by the Trump administration.
Turley noted that “unemployed censors now roam the Earth like rōnin, or masterless disgraced samurai” finding opportunities in Europe “where free speech is in a virtual free fall.”
Hillary Clinton leads the charge against free speech
Hillary Clinton has been at the forefront of this anti-free speech movement for years.
After Elon Musk purchased Twitter with the intention of restoring free speech protections, Clinton called upon the European Union to use its Digital Services Act to force Musk to censor Americans.
She has even suggested arresting those who spread what she considers “disinformation.”
Clinton and her husband Bill were recently celebrated at the World Forum in Berlin, which declared its theme as “A New World Order with European Values.”
The conference featured Clinton alongside other Americans critical of the United States, painting it as a nation descending into tyranny.
Turley called Hillary Clinton’s appearance at the forum “particularly chilling for the free speech community.”
Clinton’s relentless attacks on free speech have made her a darling of globalists pushing for international censorship rules.
Vice President Vance pushes back against European censorship
Vice President J.D. Vance recently confronted Europeans about their attacks on free speech during a historic speech in Munich.
“If you are running in fear of your own voters, there is nothing America can do for you,” Vance declared.
His defense of free speech principles drew immediate backlash from European officials and American media figures.
German diplomat Christoph Heusgen got all worked up over Vance’s speech.
“It is clear that our rules-based international order is under pressure,” Heusgen declared. “It is my strong belief that this more multipolar world needs to be based on a single set of norms and principles.”
CBS’ Margaret Brennan tried to corner Secretary of State Rubio about Vance’s comments.
She actually claimed Vance’s defense of free speech was wrong because he was “standing in a country where free speech was weaponized to conduct a genocide.”
Representative Seth Moulton (D-MA) went even further, accusing Vance of using “some of the same language that Hitler used to justify the Holocaust.”
The European Union threatens American companies
The European Union has moved ahead with implementing its Digital Services Act, threatening massive fines against American companies like X (formerly Twitter) unless they resume censoring content.
Turley didn’t just write about this threat – he testified about it to Congress.
After returning from Berlin, he warned the Senate Judiciary Committee that the DSA poses a serious danger to Americans’ freedom of speech.
The globalists aren’t hiding their fear of Trump disrupting their plans.
They see his administration as the biggest obstacle to their dream of creating unaccountable transnational governance systems that can override American laws.
This “New World Order with European Values” notably does not include robust protections for free speech.
Jankowicz has positioned herself to capitalize on this anti-American sentiment.
After the Disinformation Governance Board was disbanded, she joined a European group as a foreign agent to continue her censorship work.
She now heads a private disinformation group called the American Sunlight Project, where she insists that “Disinformation knows no political party. Its ultimate victim is our democracy.”
Turley pointed out the irony that free speech advocates would defend Jankowicz’s right to spread “sensational and inflammatory information” about the United States.
“She has every right to trash this country and the results of the election,” Turley wrote.
The partnership between disgruntled American liberals and European censors threatens the fundamental right to free speech that Americans have long cherished.
As Turley concluded, these self-described “defenders of democracy” are advocating for precisely what they claim to be fighting against – greater state control over speech and individual rights.
