Hollywood's liberal elite spent years attacking Donald Trump as unfit for office.
They called him dangerous, unstable, and a threat to democracy.
But George Clooney made one admission about Trump that exposed Hollywood's ugly secret.
Clooney reveals he was friends with Trump before politics
George Clooney just admitted something that blows up the entire Hollywood narrative about Trump.
The actor knew Trump "very well" back when the future President was just a Manhattan businessman and reality TV star.
"I knew him very well," Clooney told Variety. "He used to call me a lot, and he tried to help me get into a hospital once to see a back surgeon. I'd see him out at clubs and at restaurants."¹
So Trump was calling Clooney on the phone. They were grabbing dinner at the same restaurants. Everything was friendly.
Clooney even described Trump as "a big goofball."
"He's a big goofball. Well, he was," Clooney said. "That all changed."²
Wait a minute.
What exactly "changed" about Trump between hanging out with Clooney at Manhattan clubs and running for President?
Nothing fundamental about Trump's personality shifted between 2015 and 2016.
The man who descended the Trump Tower escalator was the same guy Clooney knew for years.
Trump's policies, his America First agenda, his tough stance on the border – none of that was some radical departure from who he'd always been.
The only thing that changed was Trump deciding to run for President as a Republican and threaten the corrupt Washington establishment.
And suddenly Hollywood turned on him like a pack of wolves.
Clooney's confession reveals Hollywood's real problem with Trump
Here's what Clooney accidentally exposed with his "big goofball" comment.
Hollywood didn't reject Trump because he became more dangerous or unstable.
They rejected him because he threatened their political power and their cozy relationship with the Democrat Party.
Trump was perfectly acceptable to the entertainment elite when he was writing checks to their causes and showing up at their galas.
But the moment Trump challenged the system that keeps people like Clooney wealthy and influential? He became public enemy number one.
Clooney can claim Trump "changed," but that's garbage.
Trump just stopped playing by Hollywood's rules.
He stopped pretending the coastal elites had all the answers.
He started listening to forgotten Americans in places like Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin instead of taking his cues from Beverly Hills dinner parties.
That's what Hollywood can't forgive.
Trump draws real star power while Clooney whines
The delicious irony is that Trump's second term has attracted more genuine celebrity support than his first.
Country superstar Carrie Underwood performed "America the Beautiful" at Trump's inauguration.
"I love our country and am honored to have been asked to sing at the inauguration and to be a small part of this historic event," Underwood said.³
Kid Rock told Fox & Friends Weekend that Hollywood is finally waking up to reality.
"It feels like the rebirth of our nation," Kid Rock said. "There's just this overwhelming sense… you've heard it a million times, that America's back."⁴
He noted that celebrities now "feel it's safe to go in the water after dipping their toe in it for four to eight years."
Jason Aldean and his wife Brittany have repeatedly shown up to support Trump publicly.
Trump appointed Jon Voight, Mel Gibson, and Sylvester Stallone as "Special Ambassadors" to Hollywood with a mission to revive the struggling entertainment industry.
"They will serve as Special Envoys to me for the purpose of bringing Hollywood, which has lost much business over the last four years to Foreign Countries, BACK – BIGGER, BETTER, AND STRONGER THAN EVER BEFORE!" Trump wrote on Truth Social.⁵
Meanwhile, Clooney sits on the sidelines licking his wounds.
His big move in 2024 was writing a New York Times op-ed demanding Joe Biden drop out of the presidential race.
Biden listened and stepped aside.
Then Democrats handed the nomination to Kamala Harris without any primary competition whatsoever.
Clooney later admitted he wanted a primary process.
"I think the mistake with it being Kamala is she had to run against her own record," Clooney said.⁶
So Clooney helped push Biden out, watched Democrats bungle the replacement, and then saw Trump win in a landslide anyway.
Some political genius.
Now he's reduced to giving interviews where he admits he used to think Trump was just a "big goofball" before politics supposedly "changed" him.
Americans see through this nonsense.
Trump didn't change.
Hollywood changed their tune about Trump the second he threatened their grip on power and their ability to dictate America's political direction.
Voters responded by giving Trump a mandate to drain the swamp and deliver real results for working Americans.
Clooney can complain all he wants about the Trump he claims is different now.
But everyone knows the truth – Trump's the same guy he always was.
The only difference is he's now fighting for regular Americans instead of playing nice with Hollywood phonies.
