George Clooney conveniently turned his back on Hollywood in one infuriating move after decades of lecturing Americans

George Clooney built a career telling everyone else how to live.

The Hollywood star made a decision that exposed his hypocrisy.

And George Clooney conveniently turned his back on Hollywood in one infuriating move after decades of lecturing Americans.

Hollywood wasn’t good enough for Clooney’s own children

George Clooney just admitted something that proves everything conservatives have said about elite liberals.

The actor fled Los Angeles in 2024, moving his family to an 18th-century French estate in the village of Cotignac.¹

After spending years as one of Hollywood’s most vocal left-wing activists, Clooney told Esquire magazine that the entertainment industry’s culture wasn’t suitable for raising his twins.²

"I was worried about raising our kids in LA, in the culture of Hollywood," Clooney admitted.³ "I felt like they were never going to get a fair shake at life."⁴

The 64-year-old actor said France offered something California couldn’t — a place where celebrity worship doesn’t dominate daily life.⁵

Clooney and his wife Amal now live with their 8-year-old children Ella and Alexander on a massive farm featuring grapevines, olive trees, and plenty of space away from the cameras.⁶

"They’re not on their iPads, you know?" Clooney explained.⁷ "They have dinner with grown-ups and have to take their dishes in. They have a much better life."⁸

The property — known as Domaine du Canadel — cost the Clooneys a reported $8.3 million when they purchased it in 2021.⁹

The estate spans 172 hectares and includes a 25-room mansion, tennis court, swimming pool, and pine forest providing complete privacy.¹⁰

Clooney recently unloaded his Studio City residence in Los Angeles for approximately $15 million, signaling France has become the family’s permanent home base.¹¹

The progressive who fled his own progressive paradise

You’d think California would be perfect for someone like George Clooney.

The state embodies every progressive policy Clooney spent years championing — and then some.

Clooney made headlines in 2020 when he and Amal put half a million dollars toward the Equal Justice Initiative after George Floyd’s death.¹²

The organization he funded pushed the narrative that America never committed to racial equality and argued slavery’s effects continue today.¹³

That same group called for defunding police departments and shifting those resources to social programs.¹⁴

Clooney’s activism resume reads like a greatest hits of left-wing causes.

He got himself arrested outside Sudan’s embassy in Washington, D.C. back in 2012 during a human rights protest.¹⁵

The actor connected his Sudan advocacy to climate change alarmism in a 2019 CNN interview, warning that rising temperatures were creating humanitarian disasters.¹⁶

Clooney co-founded Not On Our Watch with his Ocean’s 11 castmates to fight genocide in Sudan, funneled millions through United Nations programs, and accepted appointment as a UN Messenger of Peace in 2008.¹⁷

The actor also played a starring role in pushing President Biden out of the 2024 race.

Clooney published a New York Times column following Biden’s debate disaster, declaring "we are not going to win in November with this president."¹⁸

That public betrayal earned Clooney a profanity-laced tirade from Hunter Biden, who accused the actor of stabbing his father in the back.¹⁹

"Fk him and everybody around him," Hunter Biden said during a July 2025 interview.²⁰ "What right do you have to step on a man who’s given 52 years of his fking life to the service of this country?"²¹

Elite hypocrisy on full display

Clooney spent years positioning himself as a moral authority on American civic responsibility.

He told People magazine in 2020 that his father taught him standing up to injustice was a "civic duty."²²

Clooney said he worried about his children asking him years later about the separation of migrant families at the border.²³

"And if the answer is ‘nothing,’ then I would be ashamed," Clooney declared.²⁴

Five years later, that same civic-minded activist decided the progressive culture he helped build wasn’t fit for his own kids.

The Hollywood system Clooney profited from for decades suddenly became toxic once his children reached school age.

"I don’t want them to be walking around worried about paparazzi," Clooney said.²⁵ "I don’t want them being compared to somebody else’s famous kids."²⁶

The Clooneys maintain ownership of multiple properties including an Italian villa, a London-area home, and residences in both Los Angeles and New York City.²⁷

Sources say France serves as their "home base" now, though they haven’t completely severed ties with their American real estate holdings.²⁸

Clooney spent his career lecturing working-class Americans about embracing progressive values and policies.

But when it came time to raise his own family, he chose to escape to a country where his Hollywood activism means nothing.

The message couldn’t be clearer — progressive policies are fine for everyone else, just not for George Clooney’s children.
