Mother Nature unleashed her fury across America’s heartland Friday night as powerful tornadoes ripped through multiple states, leaving behind a trail of devastation that claimed at least 21 lives.
The deadly storm system carved a path of destruction through Kentucky and Missouri, flattening homes, destroying businesses, and leaving thousands of Americans wondering where to turn for help.
In St. Louis, Missouri, the damage was catastrophic. Mayor Cara Spencer estimated that up to 5,000 homes may have been affected by the tornadoes that touched down in the area.

Two Disaster Relief Units – tractor-trailers stocked with tools and emergency equipment – were dispatched immediately and arrived on Sunday. These units serve as command centers for the volunteers who will help devastated communities begin the long process of recovery.
“Yesterday, many families across America woke up to a trail of death and destruction after Friday night’s severe tornado outbreak,” said Franklin Graham, president of Samaritan’s Purse. “I know these will be difficult days for many and my heart breaks for those who are grieving the loss of their loved ones.
