Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis is under the microscope yet again.
At this rate, Willis’ case against Donald Trump may never go to trial.
And Fani Willis got caught red handed in a new scandal that will change everything for Trump.
The latest shoe to drop in the investigations into Fani Willis hiring her alleged lover to work as special prosecutor on the Trump 2020 election witch hunt came when reporters discovered that Willis didn’t report gifts Nathan Wade bought her on her 2022 financial disclosure report as required by Fulton County ethics guidelines.
Willis hired Wade in November 2021, and Trump co-defendant Mark Roman alleged in a court filing that Roman and Willis carried on a romantic affair during Wade’s time working for Willis and that Willis financially benefited from this arrangement.
Trips turn costly for more than just taxpayers
The plane tickets and cruise line trips purchased by Wade in 2022 were ones that he allegedly used to take Willis on vacation are at the heart of this scandal.
“Willis did not disclose any gifts from Wade on her annual Income and Financial Disclosure Report for 2022, which requires the disclosure of any gift or favor above $100 from a “prohibited source” — such as anyone “doing business with the county.” Willis hired Wade as a special prosecutor on the election interference case against former President Donald Trump. Willis was recently accused of being Wade’s lover and inappropriately benefitting from lucrative contracts her office had given him,” the Daily Caller exclusively reports.
“Wade’s bank statements contained in a recent court filing show Wade purchased a $477 ticket to Miami in Willis’ name on Oct. 4, 2022 — which ethics and legal experts told the DCNF she should have disclosed. Wade also made $1,387 and $1,284 payments to the Royal Caribbean cruise line on the same day he bought Willis a plane ticket,” the Daily Caller also reports.
Willis’ failure to disclose these gifts may not be just ethics violations.
Ex-White House Counsel says Fani could face prison
The Fulton County District Attorney could find herself at the defendant’s table in a courtroom.
“If she’s found to have intentionally lied on those forms, that’s not just an ethics violation,” political law attorney and former White House Counsel under Trump, Courtney Kramer told the Daily Caller.
Critics contend Fani Willis stretched the law to fabricate a novel legal theory under which to prosecute Donald Trump in part to advance her own political career and set herself up for a statewide run for office.
But at this rate Willis will be lucky if the only consequences she faces is that Judge Scott McAfee disqualifies her and her office from the case and voters give her the boot and refuse to re-elect her.
