Erika Kirk just made one admission about Charlie that left Megyn Kelly speechless

Charlie Kirk's widow is carrying on his legacy while raising two young children.

She sat down with Megyn Kelly for an emotional interview that got deeply personal.

And Erika Kirk just made one admission about Charlie that left Megyn Kelly speechless.

Erika Kirk reveals painful truth about hopes after assassination

Erika Kirk opened up to Megyn Kelly about the heartbreaking reality she faced after her husband Charlie Kirk was gunned down by a leftist assassin on September 10.

The 36-year-old widow appeared at the final stop of Kelly's SiriusXM tour in Glendale, Arizona for an emotional conversation about the life she and Charlie had planned together.

"We wanted to have four," Erika told Kelly when asked about their family plans.¹

Then came the admission that stopped Kelly cold.

"And I was praying to God that I was pregnant when he got murdered," Erika said.²

The couple already had a 3-year-old daughter and a 1-year-old son together, but they'd dreamed of a larger family.

Erika wiped tears from her eyes as she continued.

"I was like, oh, goodness, that would be the ultimate blessing out of this catastrophe," she explained.³

Charlie was killed during what should have been a routine campus speaking event at Utah Valley University as part of Turning Point USA's American Comeback Tour.

A sniper shot him from approximately 142 yards away while he answered questions from students.

Tyler Robinson, the 22-year-old suspect charged with aggravated murder, allegedly told his parents "there is too much evil and the guy spreads too much hate" when asked why he committed the assassination.⁴

The left-wing radical's bullets not only took Charlie's life but also destroyed the family Erika had been eagerly anticipating growing.

Erika's message to young women

Charlie’s death altered how Erika counsels other couples about building families.

"So now when I see young couples, I tell them, 'Please, don't put it off,'" Erika Kirk said.⁵

"Especially if you're a young woman, don't put it off," Erika urged. "You can always have a career. You can always go back to work. You can never just go back to having children."⁶

The message hits differently coming from someone who just lost the husband she planned to build that larger family with.

"And they grow so fast and so quickly," Erika added, her voice breaking. "But I just, I was praying. Both of us were. We were really excited to just expand our family."⁷

Kelly thanked God that Erika at least had the two children to remember Charlie by.

"One day they'll find out that they're Charlie Kirk's children and they'll know what that means," Kelly said during the interview.

Erika has channeled her grief into leading Turning Point USA as its new CEO, a role the organization's board unanimously selected her for just eight days after Charlie's murder.

The board revealed that Charlie had told multiple executives he wanted Erika to succeed him if anything happened to him.

She's also maintained her refusal to harbor anger toward Robinson, the man accused of murdering her husband.

"The enemy would love for me to be angry," Erika told Kelly. "He would love it because it would distract me from building what Charlie entrusted to me: raising our babies, Turning Point, being there for the team."⁸

If she had anger in her heart, Erika explained, "the Lord would not be able to use me."

President Trump posthumously awarded Charlie the Presidential Medal of Freedom on what would have been his 32nd birthday, with Erika accepting the honor at the White House.

More than 90,000 people attended Charlie's memorial service in Arizona, where both Trump and Vice President JD Vance spoke alongside Erika.

She told the massive crowd that Charlie's assassination had "unleashed" something powerful across the country.

"If you thought my husband's mission was powerful before, you have no idea," Erika declared from the stage. "You have no idea what you just have unleashed across this entire country, and this world."

Charlie and Erika married on May 8, 2021, after meeting through Turning Point USA events and dating for about two years.

The full interview between Erika Kirk and Megyn Kelly is set to air on Monday.
