Donald Trump appeared on Theo Von’s podcast.
Von is a comedian popular with young men in the 18 to 34 demographic.
Young men ages 18 to 34 who rarely pay attention to politics are the voters Trump thinks he can expand the electorate with and run up the score.
Trump’s appearance on Von’s podcast was an instant hit where listeners got to see a side of Trump that the media never shows.
In the interview, Trump discussed the scourge of opioids and opened up about how his brother’s struggle with alcohol – which ultimately led to his death – made him never want to touch drugs.
Opioids are a major problem in America, as deadly fentanyl from Communist China smuggled through Mexico across the open southern border led to more than 100,000 overdose deaths per year.
That’s one of Kamala Harris’ worst failures as border czar.
Trump asked Von about his struggles and if he ever tried opioids.
Von replied he never tried opioids.
Rather, Von’s drug of choice was cocaine.
“No, I would just do cocaine. That was really, yeah. So not just, yeah…” Von stated.
Trump learns about the effects of cocaine
“That’s down and dirty, right?” Trump responded.
“Yeah. And this is, yeah, this, I mean, it was, yeah,” Von shot back.
Trump showed concern for Von and asked, “But you don’t anymore?”
Von told Trump he kicked the habit.
“No, I don’t do it anymore, man. And I’m not doing it,” Von stated.
With that out of the way, Trump was then intrigued and wanted to know more about what taking cocaine felt like.
“Is it too much? Too much to handle?” Trump wondered.
Von replied that he began to grow worried about the types of substances dealers used to cut up the cocaine to water it down since pure cocaine would be lethal.
“Some of the stuff started to get a real rattle in it too. I don’t know where we were even getting it from in this country, but yeah, it started to make me feel like I was a mechanic or something,” Von admitted.
Trump then wondered if that was why he went back to just drinking, asking Von, “So the thing you go back to then is alcohol for the most part?”
Von said Trump was correct.
“Right, yeah, but what I want probably is cocaine, but I know that if I have a drink, then it’ll give me, it’ll be like, okay, well, I had a drink, then I can do this,” Von replied.
Trump then wanted to know the difference between alcohol and cocaine.
“Is cocaine a stronger up?” Trump inquired.
Von then told Trump that cocaine made him feel wired, where you can stay up all like an “owl.”
“Yeah. So you’re way up with cocaine more than anything else you can think of. Cocaine will turn you into a damn owl, homie. You know what I’m saying? You’ll be out on your own porch. You’ll be your own street lamp. You’re freaking…,” Von recounted.
“And is that a good feeling?” Trump wanted to know.
Von answered in the negative, saying cocaine was a terrible drug that made him feel “miserable,” but that addicts are addicts.
“Well, it’s a miserable feeling, but you do it anyway, just like the guy you’re saying with the scotch,” Von concluded.
Donald Trump has never touched drugs or alcohol for a reason.
This conversation with Theo Von about the dangers of substance abuse was a valuable topic of discussion that never would have been broached in a standard news interview where the interviewer would have wanted to come at Trump guns blazing to try and impress their fellow liberal journalists on social media with how they confronted Trump.
