Donald Trump just dropped this budget bombshell that left Democrats shell-shocked

Donald Trump promised a radical overhaul of government spending during his campaign.

Now he’s delivering on that promise in a way that has Washington, D.C. insiders reeling.

And Donald Trump just dropped this budget bombshell that left Democrats shell-shocked.

President Donald Trump has unveiled his fiscal year 2026 budget plan, and it’s exactly what he promised the American people – a sledgehammer to the bloated federal bureaucracy that has been weaponized against everyday Americans.

On May 2, the White House Office of Management and Budget released Trump’s “skinny budget,” which slashes a staggering $163 billion from non-defense discretionary spending – a massive 23 percent reduction from 2025 levels.

“For decades, the biggest complaint about the Federal Budget was wasteful spending and bloated bureaucracy. But over the last four years, Government spending aggressively turned against the American people and trillions of our dollars were used to fund cultural Marxism, radical Green New Scams, and even our own invasion,” said Russ Vought, Director of the Office of Management and Budget.

This budget represents the lowest non-defense spending level since 2017, targeting DEI programs, radical climate initiatives, and agencies that have been turned against American citizens.

The budget also takes direct aim at federal agencies that were weaponized during the previous administration, eliminating programs like the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency’s disinformation offices that censored Americans and ending so-called “Fair Housing” programs that targeted American suburbs.

Trump’s plan completely dismantles the radical “woke” agenda that had infiltrated every corner of the federal government, cutting off $315 million that had been used to push “intersectionality,” “racial equity,” and LGBTQIA+ programming for preschoolers, among other controversial initiatives.

For border security, the budget request includes an additional $500 million for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement to expedite the removal of illegal aliens, supporting 50,000 detention beds. It also provides $766 million for cutting-edge border technology and funding to maintain 22,000 Border Patrol Agents while adding officers for a total of 26,383.

Perhaps most importantly, the plan cuts off taxpayer funding to non-governmental organizations that were running “border aid stations” and legal services for illegal aliens.

On foreign policy, the budget reorganizes the U.S. Agency for International Development into the State Department and eliminates “non-essential staff that were hired based on DEI and preferencing practices.”

Trump’s budget also takes aim at failed climate initiatives, canceling over $15 billion in “Green New Scam” funds from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, plus an additional $5.7 billion that had been earmarked for electric vehicle charger programs.

The Department of Education doesn’t escape the chopping block either, with the budget “continuing the process of shutting down” the department while maintaining funding for Title I and special education.

Trump is also making good on his campaign promises to veterans, with increased funding for healthcare services and $1.1 billion to combat veteran homelessness – the largest increase in a decade.

The skinny budget outlined by OMB Director Vought makes it clear that Trump is doing exactly what he said he would do – draining the Swamp, securing the border, and putting America first.

With the blueprint now sent to Congress, the battle lines are drawn for what will undoubtedly be a fierce budget fight in the coming months.
