Donald Trump’s number one opponent the last eight years really was the media.

So-called reporters spent every day spreading lies, hoaxes, and misinformation in an effort to stumble upon the silver bullet that would bring down Donald Trump.

And Donald Trump has one ace up his sleeve that will destroy the liberal media.

Doanld Trump plans to shake up the White House briefing room 

In Donald Trump’s first term, left-wing activists like Jim Acosta would use the White House press briefing room to grandstand and deliver political speeches so they could become stars of the “resistance.”

Acting as the opposition to Trump served as a path to lucrative book deals and gigs hosting cable news shows.

Trump has a plan to change all that upon taking office.

The various Russia hoaxes and the fact that the media got the 2024 election all wrong – most outlets claimed Kamala Harris was a narrow favorite when the reality was Trump won easily – proved that the media is the number one source of misinformation in America.

Now, big legacy media outlets could pay the price for their years of lying about Donald Trump.

Daily Wire host Michael Knowles asked Donald Trump Jr. if new press secretary Karoline Leavitt was going to kick outlets like the New York Times and CNN out of the briefing as a consequence for years of fake news.

“I wonder now as your father is assembling his team, as maybe Karoline Leavitt is looking at the new press briefing room chart, maybe it’s time to reorder that chart, maybe take away some people’s seats,” Knowles stated.

Trump Jr. shocked Knowles by confirming that was under consideration as he broached that subject with his father and Elon Musk when they attended a recent SpaceX launch.

“So we’re going to break some news here,” Trump said in telling Knowles that he “literally” just talked about this issue saying he told his father and Musk that “I’d love to see Rogan in the White House press briefing, or even rotate guys out,” Trump said.

A sea change in the briefing room 

Donald Trump won the 2024 election by adapting to the new media landscape.

Trump appeared on major podcasts like the one hosted by Joe Rogan and largely shunned the big legacy media outlets knowing they were just going to lie about him.

Joe Rogan’s show reaches 14,000,000 listeners.

Trump Jr. said if outlets like the Times were just going to lie and act like a Democrat Party Super PAC, why should they get priority seating in the briefing room over podcasters with larger audiences that provide more balanced coverage?

“We had the conversation about opening up the press room to a lot of these independent journalists,” Trump replied. “If the New York Times has lied, they’ve been adverse to everything, they’re functioning as the marketing arm of the Democrat Party, why not open it up to people who have larger viewerships, stronger followings?”

Knowles predicted the leftist media would pitch a conniption fit.

“The Left is gonna answer you, and they’re going to say well, the reason you need to keep the New York Times and the Washington Post in there is because they influence people, and the whole point of the White House briefing room is to convey the message of the White House to the American people.” Knowles stated.

And it would be even worse as the Times and the Washington Post would have to admit YouTube streamers and podcasters were now more relevant. 

“But this is different, you have the New York Times and Washington Post admitting that podcasters and streamers are eating their lunch,” Knowles added.

This admission would also force the press to confront the fact that it operates as an institution of the Left and only covers stories they think Democrats care about while the rest of the country tunes out.

“If they’re dishonest, if they’re not asking questions that are in the interest of the American people, and the American people aren’t even paying attention,” Knowles added.

The final weeks of the Presidential election provided a prime example of this behavior as the media coverage focused exclusively on a comedian’s joke about Puerto Rico and what Donald Trump said about Liz Cheney when the reality was voters top concerns were inflation and the border.
