Establishment Republicans want Donald Trump gone just as much as Democrats.
But Trump keeps marching towards the White House.
And now Donald Trump checkmated the D.C. Swamp with one big power play.
RINO Senator Minority Leader Mitch McConnell knows the only way he can unlock $61 billion in taxpayer funding for Joe Biden’s war in Ukraine is to pass a border security bill.
But in classic D.C. fashion, the bill that McConnell and the RINOs agreed to would provide entry into the United States for at least 1,825,000 illegal aliens per year and automatic work permits for each one that Joe Biden releases into the country.
All Republicans got in return were vague promises of board security that even the GOP Senators who helped cut the deal admit that Joe Biden will never enforce.
Joe Biden could fix the border problem tomorrow by simply reinstating the Trump policies like the Remain in Mexico Protocols he canceled and restarting border wall construction.
But Biden wants the GOP to codify his open borders agenda with a fig leaf of border security so he can take away Trump’s most potent political weapon by claiming he worked in a bipartisan fashion to “solve” the border crisis.
McConnell promised the bill would come up for a vote shortly and demanded his conference back the border betrayal.
House Speaker Mike Johnson refused to commit to bringing the bill up for a vote, and McConnell, Chuck Schumer, and Joe Biden all think the bigger the margin they run up in the Senate, the harder it will be for Johnson to resist bringing the bill to the floor.
Conservatives like Missouri Republican Senator Josh Hawley hoped Donald Trump would step into the breach and oppose McConnell’s amnesty cave-in to buck the opponents in the House and stop this travesty from making its way to Joe Biden’s desk.
“I hope he will dissuade people” Hawley told reporters. “Can he? I don’t know… Maybe. Maybe not.”
Donald Trump did just that, posting on social media that Speaker Johnson should hold the line and demand Joe Biden agree to H.R. 2, a bill passed by the House that would seal the border by ending the abuse of the asylum system as well as catch and release while also completing border wall construction.
“I do not think we should do a Border Deal, at all, unless we get EVERYTHING needed to shut down the INVASION of Millions & Millions of people, many from parts unknown, into our once great, but soon to be great again, Country!” Trump wrote. “Also, I have no doubt that our wonderful Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson, will only make a deal that is PERFECT ON THE BORDER. Remember, without Strong Borders and Honest Elections, we don’t have a Country!!!” Trump posted on Truth Social.
Senate RINOs weren’t happy with Trump’s opposition
“It’s certainly not helpful,” Senate Minority Whip John Thune of South Dakota stated. “But in the end, people are going to have to do what they think is right.”
Thune’s fellow South Dakota RINO Mike Rounds admitted the deal was a sham and that Joe Biden could still keep the border open while also complaining about Trump’s opposition.
“Anytime you have a Republican frontrunner for the presidency, people will listen to what he’s got to say. But there’s a lot of really good logic involved in trying to get something done now,” Rounds stated. “That would be helpful for this administration, but absolutely necessary for the next administration.”
Retiring Utah RINO Mitt Romney lamented the fact that Trump’s opposition would all but doom the bill in the House of Representatives.
“That makes it harder,” Romney fumed. “President Trump obviously has a big influence in our party, and on some people more than others.”
Republicans hold the winning hand on immigration.
Polls show the American people rebelling against Joe Biden smuggling a record wave of illegal aliens into America and supporting stricter border security.
But rather than right for real border security, Senate Republicans are scheming to help re-elect Joe Biden by allowing Biden to campaign on a sham border security “deal.”
