Dick Van Dyke’s been entertaining audiences for generations.
But Van Dyke entered a dark place.
And Dick Van Dyke made this awful prediction about Trump’s second term.
Dick Van Dyke’s macabre prediction
Dick Van Dyke became a household name by starring in films like Bye Bye Birdie and Mary Poppins, as well as hit TV programs like The Dick Van Dyke show and Diagnosis Murder.
The 98-year-old Van Dyke is a popular figure with older generations of Americans.
But a video taken by the Daily Mail showed Van Dyke is one of the many celebrities not reacting well to Donald Trump’s landslide victory.
“Does the future look bright for America?” the Daily Mail asked Van Dyke.
“I hope you’re right,” Van Dyke replied.
That seemed like a gentle enough start.
Van Dyke then showed his true dark mood when the interviewer asked if Trump “is capable of making America great again.”
“Fortunately, I won’t be around to experience the four years,” Van Dyke replied, predicting his own death and sounding happy about the fact he would pass away rather than live to see Trump’s second term out to its conclusion.
Dick Van Dyke endorsed Kamala Harris
Dick Van Dyke was among Kamala Harris’ legion of celebrity backers.
Van Dyke recorded a video where he read the copy of a speech he gave at a 1964 Civil Rights rally when he stood next to Martin Luther King Jr.
“Hatred is not the norm. Prejudice is not the norm. Suspicion, dislike, jealousy, scapegoating, none of those are the transcendent facet of the human personality. They’re diseases. They are. They are cancers of the soul,” Van Dyke said.
Van Dyke continued baselessly comparing Trump to evil.
“There will be moments of violence and expressions of hatred and [an] ugly echo of intolerance, but these are the clinging vestiges of a decayed past, not the harbingers of the better, cleaner future. To those who tell us the inequality of the human animal is a necessary evil, we must respond by simply saying that first, it is evil, but not necessary,” Van Dyke continued.
“1964 — a lot’s happened. Not so much as Martin Luther dreamed of, but it’s a start. Thank you, and God bless,” Van Dyke concluded.
The sheer number of celebrity endorsements – like the one provided by Van Dyke – ended up hurting Kamala Harris as opposed to helping her.
Van Dyke and other celebrity backers clung to the same reasons as to why they supported Kamala Harris – and that was they thought Donald Trump was an evil racist.
Towards the end of the campaign, Kamala Harris’ platform amounted to “orange man bad” and look how many cool friends I have – although it later came out that Kamala Harris may have paid for these celebrity endorsements.
Kamala Harris completely abandoned any message of explaining how she would make the American people’s lives better.
On the other hand, Donald Trump relentlessly focused on securing the border, bringing down the cost of goods, and bringing the endless war in Ukraine to a close.
When it came down to the time for choosing, voters obviously went with Trump’s message about their lives.
