Democrats got some bad news that will change Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s future

Mar 25, 2025

Three Key Takeaways:

  • The Democrat Party is facing increasing infighting and dissatisfaction among its base, with frustration growing over leadership’s inability to effectively fight Trump.
  • Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez could capitalize on the party’s discontent, positioning herself as a political outsider and a fighter against both the establishment and Republicans, potentially eyeing a 2028 Presidential run.
  • The situation mirrors the Tea Party movement of 2010, with primaries and revolt from the base threatening incumbent Democrats who are seen as too aligned with the establishment.

The Democrat Party is in turmoil as infighting increases.

Members of the party are confronting a doomsday scenario.

And Democrats got some bad news that will change Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s future.

Democrats could face their own Tea Party movement

The fracture between the Democrat Party’s base and its elected leaders is growing as wide as the Grand Canyon.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) united every faction of the party against him when he voted for a Republican spending resolution to avert a government shutdown.

Former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) called him out for folding in the fight.

The establishment and socialist wings of the party have united against Schumer.

Democrat voters are becoming increasingly frustrated that their Members of Congress aren’t doing “enough” to fight Trump.

They actually want more obnoxious displays of resistance like Representative Al Green (D-TX) waving his cane and yelling during Trump’s address to a joint session of Congress that got him thrown out.

Axios reported that Democrat Members of Congress are facing hostility in their districts that they’ve never seen before.

“Any Democratic incumbent who thinks they can rest on their laurels and not show their constituents that they are fighting like hell is making a mistake,” Representative Jared Huffman (D-CA) said.

The stage is set for a Democrat fighter

A top House Democrat told Axios that vicious Primaries could be looming for the party.

“The people that have been voting . . . with Republicans on these messaging bills are people that could get primaried,” the House Democrat said. “These groups are paying attention to that.”

Another top House Democrat received a call from a fellow lawmaker who was in tears after a town hall.

“They hate us. They hate us,” the House Democrat was told.

“Among the things I got [at a town hall] were: ‘Will you call for Chuck Schumer to resign?'” the House Democrat stated. “Last week I got: ‘You need to tell your leadership they had no right rebuking Democrats for being strong’ at Trump’s speech to a joint session of Congress.”

The Democrat base is growing increasingly unhinged over Trump’s swift action during his second term.

“Another thing I got was: ‘Democrats are too nice. Nice and civility doesn’t work. Are you prepared for violence?'” the House Democrat recalled.

Huffman compared the current revolt by the base to the Tea Party backlash that Republican incumbents faced beginning in 2010.

“The level of exasperation is comparable [to the Tea Party] for sure, even if the issues and policies are very different,” Huffman said.

Only 40% of Democrats approve of the job that Congressional Democrats are doing.

That number is down from 75% at this time last year.

Democrat voters are angry and want someone they perceive to be a fighter.

That’s where Ocasio-Cortez comes in.

She and U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) have been drawing massive crowds on their Fight Oligarchy tour.

Ocasio-Cortez is eyeing a Presidential campaign in 2028.

The door is open for her to harness the anger of the Democrat base as a political outsider who will fight the party’s establishment along with Republicans.
