Democrats have spent months attacking every move President Trump makes.
They can’t stand giving him credit for anything.
But John Fetterman stunned everyone with this praise for Trump’s Gaza win.
Trump delivers what Biden couldn’t in four years
President Trump just pulled off something the Biden administration failed to accomplish in four years of office.
After issuing a 48-hour ultimatum to Hamas over the weekend, Trump announced that both Israel and Hamas had signed off on the first phase of a historic peace plan.
And Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman – one of the few Democrats willing to break from party orthodoxy – immediately congratulated the President on the breakthrough.
"I congratulate @POTUS on this historic peace plan that releases all the hostages," Fetterman wrote on X. "Now, enduring peace in the region is possible. Our parties are different but we have a shared ironclad commitment to Israel and its people."¹
The Democrat Senator’s public praise for Trump represents a stunning departure from his party’s usual knee-jerk opposition to everything the President does.
Most Democrats would rather see America fail than give Trump any credit for success.
But Fetterman recognized something his colleagues refuse to admit – Trump just achieved what Biden couldn’t accomplish in four years of weakness and failure.
The breakthrough that eluded Biden for years
Trump’s announcement on Truth Social revealed the scope of this diplomatic victory.
"This means that ALL of the Hostages will be released very soon, and Israel will withdraw their Troops to an agreed upon line as the first steps toward a Strong, Durable, and Everlasting Peace," the President wrote. "All Parties will be treated fairly! This is a GREAT Day for the Arab and Muslim World, Israel, all surrounding Nations, and the United States of America."²
The President thanked mediators from Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey who worked with his administration to make what he called this "Historic and Unprecedented Event happen."
This peace deal comes after Trump gave Hamas a simple ultimatum over the weekend – agree to the terms or face the consequences.
"After negotiations, Israel has agreed to the initial withdrawal line, which we have shown to, and shared with, Hamas," Trump announced Saturday. "When Hamas confirms, the Ceasefire will be IMMEDIATELY effective, the Hostages and Prisoner Exchange will begin."³
The President called the conflict a "3,000 YEAR CATASTROPHE" and positioned his peace plan as the pathway to finally ending it.
That kind of decisive leadership is exactly what was missing during four years of Biden’s foreign policy disasters.
Fetterman shows what real bipartisanship looks like
Look, here’s what sets Fetterman apart from the rest of the Democrat caucus.
While his colleagues are still playing political games and looking for ways to attack Trump, Fetterman actually cares more about results than partisan point-scoring.
His willingness to praise Trump’s foreign policy victory shows he understands what’s at stake in the Middle East.
The Pennsylvania Senator has consistently bucked his party’s anti-Israel wing, refusing to bow to the radical leftists who want to abandon America’s most important ally in the region.
When Hamas terrorists were holding hostages for over a year, helping fuel devastating bombing campaigns from Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu widely-seen as wantonly excessive, Biden’s weak leadership produced nothing but empty promises and failed negotiations.
To date, estimates show over 200,000 casualties in the Gaza operation with some 66,000 deaths, the majority of which are considered collateral deaths of Gazan civilians.
What’s more, Gaza’s Christian population suffered a massive reduction.
The Christian population of around 1,000 believers is estimated to have been cut nearly in half during the offensive campaign between displacement and deaths as some 44 Gazan Christians lost their lives.
Trump insisted on an end to the slaughter, telling Netanyahu “the killing has to stop.”
Now, he’s delivered what Biden couldn’t – a real path to peace.
For folks who’ve been watching this conflict drag on for years, Trump’s breakthrough represents the kind of strong leadership America needs on the world stage.
The President didn’t waste time with endless diplomatic theater like his predecessor.
He set deadlines, backed them up with strength, and got results.
That’s exactly the kind of decisive action that makes America respected again around the world.
And Fetterman deserves credit for recognizing success when he sees it, even when it comes from across the aisle.
The rest of his party could learn something from his willingness to put America’s interests ahead of partisan politics.
