Caitlin Clark just suffered this awful racist insult

Jun 19, 2024

Caitlin Clark is the biggest thing ever to hit women’s basketball.

Clark’s fellow WNBA players aren’t reacting well at all.

And Caitlin Clark just suffered this awful racist insult.

Clark’s WNBA growing pains

Caitlin Clark set the all-time NCAA scoring record  for both men’s and women’s college basketball during her four years at Iowa.

Clark leading the Hawkeyes to the NCAA Women’s Tournament Finals led to record ratings.

The championship game between Clark’s Hawkeyes and unbeaten South Carolina out-drew every single NBA Finals game since 2019.

Clark entering the WNBA was supposed to herald a golden age of women’s basketball.

But ever since Clark entered the WNBA, she’s been the subject of racist physical and verbal abuse by a jealous group of woke fellow players who critics contend resent Clark because she’s straight and she’s white.

WNBA players continue to attack Clark

Thanks to Clark’s presence, the WNBA experienced record ratings and attendance.

But rather than embrace the new fans, the WNBA players and their woke media enablers want to kill the golden goose by trying to paint Clark’s massive fan support as the product a racism.

One reporter tried to goad Clark into the culture wars by asking her about fans – the reporter didn’t offer any evidence of their existence – who use Clark to push racism and misogyny on social media.

“It’s not something I can control so I don’t put too much thought and time into thinking about things like that,” Clark also said in response.

“To be honest, I don’t see a lot of it. Like I’ve said, basketball is my job. Everything on the outside, I can’t control that so I’m not going to spend time thinking about that,” Clark concluded.

Connecticut Sun wing DiJonai Carrington responded on social media by accusing Clark of being complicit in racism.

“Dawg, how one can not be bothered by their name being used to justify racism, bigotry, misogyny, xenophobia, homophobia & the intersectionalities of them all is nuts. We all see the sh*t. We all have a platform. We all have a voice & they all hold weight. Silence is a luxury,” Carrington posted.

The only thing worse Clark could have done was don a MAGA hat and announce she was voting for Trump.

The WNBA’s future profitability owes to Clark

Thanks to Clark’s entrance into the league, WNBA players now fly charter jets instead of commercial.

In 2018 NBA Commissioner Adam Silver said the WNBA lost $10 million annually.

The league projects to lose $50 million in 2024.

But the WNBA’s TV rights deal – which currently pays $60 million – is up for renegotiation.

Thanks to Clark’s presence causing an uptick in viewership, that number could double or triple in the new TV deal, turning the WNBA into a profitable enterprise, which then will serve to fuel an increase in player salaries.

WNBA league executives and the media should all be working as hard as possible to market Clark to the broadest audience.

Instead, the image of the WNBA is that of a bunch of angry and jealous mean girls who harbor numerous layers of bigotry towards the league’s most appealing player.
