Border Czar Tom Homan takes a no-holds-barred approach to his job.
He’s not worried about hurting anyone’s feelings.
And Border Czar Tom Homan left a Democrat Mayor a wreck with this awful problem.
Democrat Mayors struggle to defend sanctuary city policies
Border Czar Tom Homan has been sparring with Democrat Mayors who are trying to resist his efforts to arrest and deport illegal aliens in their cities.
The House Oversight Committee called in Boston Mayor Michelle Wu, New York City Mayor Eric Adams, Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson, and Denver Mayor Mike Johnston to testify about their cities’ sanctuary policies.
Johnson defended Chicago not cooperating with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) by claiming it made the city safer.
Reality TV star Dr. Phil McGraw embedded with ICE agents during a raid in Chicago earlier this year where an illegal alien who was a convicted child predator was roaming the streets.
Fox News host Laura Ingraham asked Homan for his thoughts on the hearing where Democrat Mayors defended sanctuary city laws.
Homan has clashed with Boston Mayor Wu over the city’s refusal to cooperate with ICE to take illegal aliens who’ve committed heinous crimes off the streets.
“I didn’t see that hearing, but thank you for playing that because now I want to sleep like a baby. Because if I get to live in her mind rent-free every day, that’s kind of cool,” Homan said about Wu. “I love my job. I work for the greatest President in my lifetime.”
Wu accused Homan of lying about crimes created by illegal aliens in Boston.
“We’re making America safe again,” Homan continued. “President Trump promised the American people that we’re going to shut down illegal alien crime in this country. That’s exactly what we’re doing. Mayor Wu should be standing side by side with me.”
Illegal aliens make Chicago safer
One of the highlight reel moments of the hearing was Johnson claiming that welcoming illegal aliens made Chicago a safer city.
Homan called out the Mayor for being clueless.
“We took two murderers off the streets of Chicago. Is that city safer?” Homan asked. “We took child predators off the streets of Chicago. Does that make that city safer? We took, I think it was, seven or nine TDA (Tren De Aragua) members off the streets of Chicago. Does that make that city safer? Look, he’s ignorant, and these mayors just don’t get it. President Trump made a promise. We’re going to prioritize public safety threats and national security threats.”
He pointed out that ICE has already arrested 30,000 illegal aliens who are mostly serious criminals in the United States.
“We’re at about 30,000 arrests. Most of them are public safety threats,” Homan explained. “There are some collaterals, and why is that? Because people like him and the mayor of Boston and the mayor of Denver, they don’t let us arrest the bad guy in the safety and security of the county jail where the officer is safe, the alien is safe, the community is safe.”
The Border Czar said that ICE had to go into communities to hunt these criminals because the police didn’t hold them.
Tom Homan is backing down from a fight with sanctuary city Mayors.
