Joe Biden's presidency ended the way it began — with his own people treating him like an afterthought.
His final months in office saw Democrat leadership push him aside for Kamala Harris.
And Biden's family Christmas photo left Americans asking one brutal question.
Hunter takes center stage while Biden gets shoved to the back
Former President Joe Biden shared what should have been a straightforward Christmas greeting on X around 9 p.m. Christmas Eve.
"Wishing you a peaceful and joyful Christmas Eve filled with love," the message read, accompanied by a family photo in front of a Christmas tree.¹
But the image immediately sparked confusion and mockery across social media.
Biden himself was barely visible in his own family photo — partially hidden in the back row behind his wife Jill.
Meanwhile Hunter Biden, whose Secret Service code name was once "Chieftain," occupied the prime position front and center with his daughter Maisy.²
The composition was so bizarre that users started posting close-ups just to prove Biden was actually in the picture.
"Took me a while to find ya, champ," one X user wrote, sharing a zoomed-in screenshot of Biden's partially obscured face.³
The "Where's Joe?" jokes came flooding in immediately.

Americans noticed this disturbing pattern in Biden family photos
This wasn't an isolated incident of awkward Biden family photography.
Back in April, Biden shared an Easter family photo that generated its own firestorm of controversy.
The former President appeared stiffly posed in a formal navy suit while everyone else wore casual clothing, with lighting so off that widespread speculation erupted that he'd been photoshopped into the image.⁴
The pattern goes back even further.
When Barack Obama visited the White House in April 2022, video showed Biden standing alone on stage while Democrats swarmed Obama as if he were still the sitting President.
Biden raised his hands in apparent frustration as the crowd completely ignored him.⁵
Conservative author Andy Ngo captured what many Americans were thinking about the Christmas photo.
"I think it's disrespectful to put the eldest family member in the back of a photo taken for the former president's social media," Ngo posted on X.⁶
Here was a man whose influence enriched the Biden family for decades through his political connections.
Put the guy in a chair and have everyone stand around him.
That's what normal families do.
Instead, Biden's own family literally hid him in the back of his own Christmas photo and then posted it from his account.
The photo reveals an uncomfortable truth Democrats won't admit
The bizarre composition of this family holiday photo tells a larger story about how Biden has been treated.
For four years, Democrats and their media allies insisted Biden was "sharp as a tack" and fully capable of serving another term.
His staff kept him away from the press, limited his public appearances, and carefully controlled his schedule to hide his obvious cognitive decline.
Then after one disastrous debate performance against President Trump that they couldn't hide, Democrats forced Biden to drop out and installed Kamala Harris without a single primary vote.
Biden never commanded respect — not from his party, not from the media covering for him, and apparently not even from his own family.
Even something as simple as a Christmas family photo shows a man being pushed aside by the people closest to him.
Social media users weren't subtle about what the photo revealed.
"His family buried him in the back of the Christmas photo and then posted it on his own account. Absolute savages," one user wrote.⁷
Another added: "They're already leaving Joe out of the family picture and he ain't even dead yet."⁸
The photo also highlighted who was missing — Hunter's daughter Navy Joan Roberts with former stripper Lunden Roberts.
Biden struggled for years to even acknowledge Navy's existence as his granddaughter, a pattern that continued right through this Christmas photo.⁹
Compare this to President Trump, who remains constantly available to the press and maintains a commanding public presence.
The contrast between Trump's accessible, energetic leadership style and Biden being literally hidden in family photos couldn't be starker.
Biden's presidency began with Democrats using him as a vehicle to defeat Trump, then spending four years managing his decline.
It ended with his family treating him the same way — as someone to be managed, hidden, and positioned in the background.
That Christmas photo wasn't just bad composition.
It was the perfect visual metaphor for how Democrats and even Biden's own family viewed him all along.
