Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett’s shift to the Left grows more disturbing by the day.
Barrett was supposed to serve as a critical piece of President Trump’s legacy.
And Amy Coney Barrett just threatened Donald Trump in this unspeakable way.
A pattern is emerging that in key cases involving President Trump, Justice Amy Coney Barrett votes with the Left.
Barrett voted with the liberal justices in a dissenting opinion where the conservatives rejected the Biden Justice Department’s scheme to use the obstruction of official proceeding statute passed in the wake of the Enron scandal to jail Trump and his supporters for up to 20 years for January 6.
Barrett voted with the liberal justices in the Presidential immunity decision.
Barrett also shot President Trump a dirty look when he walked past the Supreme Court Justices at this year’s joint address to Congress.
And now Barrett joined with the leftist justices in a losing opinion to try and block President Trump from deporting illegal alien gang members using the Alien Enemies Act.
Fox News legal analyst Jonathan Turley couldn’t understand why Justice Barrett joined the dissent since the majority agreed with Barrett that the illegal aliens could challenge their deportations.
“The dissent is a little bit odd here, these four justices, particularly Justice Barrett. [I] wrote on my blog this morning, I still don’t quite know why Barrett joined the dissent,” Turley told the co-hosts of America’s Newsroom. “She joined a small part of it. Part of that was saying they get due process rights, but the majority said that. So I’m still rather confused as to why Justice Barrett dissented.”
“I’m sure Donald Trump is as well,” co-host John Roberts quipped.
The section of the dissent Barrett joined was written by leftist Sonia Sotomayor, which held that the illegal aliens had multiple paths to challenge their deportation.
“There is every reason to question the majority’s hurried conclusion that habeas relief supplies the exclusive means to challenge removal under the Alien Enemies Act,” Sotomayor wrote.
This is important because Barrett saying the illegal aliens could challenge on grounds beyond habeas corpus meant their lawyers could continue to forum shop and file lawsuits in Washington D.C., where they will draw Obama and Biden judges.
Barrett knew the majority agreed with her on due process.
But Barrett wanted everyone to see her voting against President Trump.
The majority ruled the illegal aliens couldn’t sue in D.C. because it had no jurisdiction since they were being held in Texas.
Forum shopping for leftist judges allows for district court judges – like the Obama activist in this case, James Boasberg – to wield dictatorial power by issuing nationwide injunctions that give them supreme power over the President.
Turley said the Supreme Court keeps sending signals to lower court judges to cut it out.
But the leftists aren’t listening.
“Even liberal justices have complained, you can’t run a government like this. You can’t have endless Lilliputian attacks of over 600 judges holding up the business of the government,” Turley concluded. “Congress is moving on that. But also the Supreme Court has been clear for years, a majority of the Supreme Court has been stating in oral arguments, particularly, this has got to stop, it’s just that these judges are not listening.”
