Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg is one of a number of George Soros-funded prosecutors who are now under a microscope.
Many Democrats blame the Leftās soft-on-crime policies for helping Donald Trump win re-election.
And Alvin Bragg is going to hate what this MSNBC host just said on the air.
Joe Scarborough slams Democrat-run cities for allowing homelessness
MSNBCās Morning Joe is the voice for the conventional wisdom for the āAcela Corridorā left-wing elite ā aka the establishment elites who frequent Amtrak’s Acela passenger trains from Boston to Washington, D.C.
When a jury acquitted Daniel Penny on charges of criminally negligent homicide for the death of mentally ill career criminal and homeless man Jordan Neely, Joe Scarboroughās reaction showed how far the pendulum has swung on matters of law and order.
Four years ago, Scarborough and others in the media would have decried Pennyās acquittal as another moment for Black Lives Matter protests in which the supposedly systemically racist justice system allowed a white man to kill a black man with no consequences.
But Donald Trumpās re-election win showed the public no longer bought those woke lies.
Instead, Scarborough attacked Democrat-run cities for letting the homeless get out of control and suggesting that Bragg failed at his job by letting Neely run free on the streets when he should have been forcibly committed after his more than 40 arrests.
āThe mental health system in this country, again, is just grossly insufficient. Whether youāre talking about New York, whether youāre talking about Florida, whether youāre talking about California, you have people walking about on the streets that have mental health issues,ā Scarborough began.
Scarborough blasted leftists for passing laws that allow homeless encampments to take over the streets of some of Americaās biggest cities.
āAnd the fact some Progressives have said letās pass laws that allow homelessnessā¦ You look at San Francisco, you look at Los Angeles. As weāve said all along, thereās nothing compassionate about that. Thereās nothing Progressive about that, leaving people with mental health problems on the street, no!ā Scarborough added.
āWe need to spend more money as a society taking care of those who have mental health challenges and not just say, yeah, you can live on the streets. Bad things happen,ā Scarborough concluded.
The message may be getting throughĀ
A canary in the coal mine about the backlash generated by the Leftās woke policies coddling the homeless took place in Portland this summer.
Portland is a city that famously let Antifa run wild and battle federal agents as they tried to destroy a courthouse in the summer of 2020.
But this past summer the city council passed an ordinance banning homeless encampments on the streets.
āThe final version of the new ban prohibits homeless residents from camping on public property or public streets and sidewalks if they have access to ‘reasonable alternative shelter.’ If shelter space isn’t available, the ordinance still bans camping that obstructs sidewalks or private property access,ā KGW8 NBC in Portland reported.
Even the leftist residents in Portland were sick and tired of seeing homeless colonies take over the city and bring disease, crime, and unsanitary conditions to their streets.
