All hell breaks loose over Epstein files after one Congressman laid bare Democrats’ last minute ploy to smear Trump

Nov 12, 2025

The Epstein files have become Washington, DC's biggest political scandal in years.

It’s clear there are bad actors and embarrassed politicians on both sides of the aisle as arms got twisted in both parties.

But all Hell just broke loose over Massie’s Epstein files bill after one Congressman laid bare Democrats’ last minute ploy to smear Trump

Democrats block Tim Burchett’s attempt to bring Massie Epstein files disclosure bill to immediate House floor vote

For months, conservatives demanded answers about Jeffrey Epstein's death in prison and who enabled his sex trafficking operation.

Republicans spent years promising voters they'd release the files if given power in Washington, D.C.

Now that they controlled Congress, some of those same Republicans mysteriously went silent on the issue.

A sketch of what might really be going on crystalized as Democrats strangely attempted to prolong the government shutdown as long as possible.

But it looked increasingly like a handful of politicians in both parties were desperate to avoid the inevitable when the House came back into session – a new congresswoman would be sworn in and she’d promised to be the 218th signature on a petition to bring conservative Congressman Thomas Massie’s (R-KY) bipartisan Epstein Files disclosure bill.

When keeping the government closed became untenable, Democrats attempted a last minute move to smear Trump ahead of the file disclosure which will almost certainly expose more Democrats than Republicans.

House Oversight Democrats leaked a few emails showing Epstein discussing Trump with Maxwell and so-called journalist Michael Wolff – the catch was they redacted the name of the woman who they hoped to portray as a supposed Trump victim.

That name was Virginia Giuffre’s – whose own under oath testimony and memoir cleared Trump of any wrongdoing, which is why her name was not originally redacted.

She testified in 2016, that she never saw Trump and Epstein together, never witnessed Trump engage in inappropriate behavior, and never saw Trump at any of Epstein's properties.

Democrats just needed enough time to let their media pals circulate their last minute attempt to set the narrative.

U.S. Representative Tim Burchett (R-TN) decided he'd had enough of the political games surrounding the Epstein files.

Burchett attempted to force an immediate House floor vote on releasing the documents through a unanimous consent request on Wednesday.¹

But Democrats blocked his motion before it could move forward.

Tim Burchett Had One Brutal Response When Democrats Blocked His Move On The Epstein Files

"Well, I just TRIED to move it ahead… but the Democrats opposed me on it," Burchett explained in a Fox News interview. "It's STUPID. It's ALL about politics, not about taking care of young ladies who got abused."²

Burchett didn't hold back when describing what he thinks Democrats' real motivation is for blocking transparency.

"We should. The Democrats have had it for 4 YEARS and didn't do a dadgum THING," Burchett stated. "And you KNOW if Trump was in that thing… he's the antichrist to them. They would've already had it out!"³

The Tennessee congressman's frustration boiled over as he accused both parties of playing political games with information that could deliver justice for Epstein's victims.

"This is politics. It has nothing to do with doing what's right!" Burchett said. "And it's Washington DC to a T. And again, they ought to be ashamed of themselves, but they're probably not."⁴

Democrats had Epstein files for four years and did nothing

Here's what Democrats don't want you to know.

They controlled the White House and had access to the Epstein files for Joe Biden's entire four-year presidency.

Not once did they move to release them.

Not once did any Democrat in Congress demand transparency while their guy sat in the Oval Office.

Now they're blocking a Republican congressman from forcing an immediate vote while pretending they care about Epstein's victims.

Democrats refused to give Burchett the required bipartisan signoff for his unanimous consent request.⁵

Without that approval from Democrat leadership, House Rules required the presiding officer to rule the motion out of order.

That's the same bureaucratic red tape Democrats are using to keep the files buried while they score political points attacking Republicans.

"I just made a motion to bring it straight to the dadgum floor and they blocked it," Burchett said in a separate video statement. "They blocked it!"⁶

"I tried to do unanimous consent, tried to get the Epstein files, get it straight to the floor to cut out all this nonsense. And, you know, and the Democrats blocked it oddly enough!" Burchett explained.⁷

Democrats spent four years sitting on these files while Biden was president.

Now they're using parliamentary tricks to prevent an immediate vote while claiming Republicans are covering something up.

The hypocrisy is staggering even by Washington, D.C. standards.

Discharge petition forces House vote despite leadership resistance

The political theater surrounding the Epstein files is about to come to a head whether leadership wants it or not.

U.S. Representatives Thomas Massie (R-KY) and Ro Khanna (D-CA) secured the 218 signatures needed on a discharge petition to force a House floor vote.⁹

The discharge petition allows members to bypass House leadership and bring legislation directly to the floor.

Representative Adelita Grijalva (D-AZ) provided the crucial 218th signature moments after being sworn into office Wednesday.¹⁰

House rules require seven legislative days to pass before the vote can be called after reaching 218 signatures.

That means the earliest a vote could happen is the first week of December after Congress returns from Thanksgiving break.¹¹

The Epstein Files Transparency Act would require the Justice Department to publish all unclassified records related to Epstein's investigation.¹²

That includes materials about Ghislaine Maxwell, flight logs, travel records, and any government officials named in connection with the investigation.

Some information would be withheld to protect victims' personal information and ongoing federal investigations.

President Trump urged Republicans to drop the Epstein issue and focus on reopening the government after the shutdown.¹³

"Only a very bad, or stupid, Republican would fall into that trap," Trump wrote on Truth Social.¹⁴

Four House Republicans signed the discharge petition despite Trump's opposition – Massie, Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), Lauren Boebert (R-CO), and Nancy Mace (R-SC).¹⁵

It’s unclear why Trump has so adamantly opposed the files’ release – whether out of knowing Democrats would try to falsely smear him with them (which they would always do, anyway), to protect friends, save our intelligence community, or that of supposed foreign allies, from embarrassment, or threats on his life.

And Burchett is probably right, Democrats would have had it out if there was anything real on Trump in the files.

More answers will likely become clear in time but the American people were promised transparency about Epstein's crimes and the powerful people who enabled him and the time to deliver has come.

Burchett's frustration reflects what millions of Americans feel watching Washington, D.C. protect the powerful instead of delivering justice for Epstein's victims.
