Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was fuming when a top Democrat spoke this damning fact

Apr 10, 2025

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez senses an opportunity in the Democrat Party.

She’s trying to position herself as a leader.

And Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was fuming when a top Democrat spoke this damning fact.

Democrats are focused on the past while voters are interested in the future

Democrats have a vacuum in leadership after the 2024 Election.

Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) has tried to fill the void during President Donald Trump’s second term.

She’s positioned herself as the bare-knuckles brawler against the Trump administration that the Democrat base wants in leadership.

Former Ohio Democrat Senate candidate Morgan Harper was once hailed as the “AOC of the Midwest.”

Harper said that Ocasio-Cortez wasn’t the leader that Democrats needed during an appearance on Fox News Channel’s The Faulkner Focus

“I do think it’s troubling in this moment, with so much going on in the country, that we have these same people that were part of the problem that are continuing to keep focus on the past when we right now need a book written by a Democrat of how to win,” Harper said about several new books from the legacy media detailing former President Joe Biden’s cognitive decline. “That’s what a lot of Democratic voters are looking for.”

Harper ran in the 2022 Ohio Democrat Senate Primary, and Harper’s Bazaar magazine ran an article about her titled “Is Morgan Harper the AOC of the Midwest?”

She lost the Primary to former Representative Tim Ryan (D-OH) that year.

“AOC of the Midwest” gives Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez grim news

Harper argued that older Democrats needed to pass the torch for a new generation of leadership.

“There is a resistance among many folks in Democratic politics to let go and let a new generation take over,” Harper said. “A generation that is going to connect, especially with young people, more effectively. Because this kind of story and these kinds of books are doing nothing to persuade the people that stayed home.”

Democrats are looking for the next generation of leaders but Harper didn’t think that included Ocasio-Cortez.

Host Harris Faulkner asked if Ocasio-Cortez was one of the new generation of leaders.

“In Ohio, AOC is not that,” Harper said.

Ocasio-Cortez has drawn large crowds with U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) on his “Fighting Oligarchy” tour across the country.

The Democrat base loves that she’s seen as a fighter and an outspoken socialist.

She might be popular on college campuses and deep blue cities, but her appeal doesn’t extend beyond that.

The far-left has completely taken over the Democrat Party and is widely out of touch with the country.

Democrats had a 29% favorability rating in a recent CNN poll – a historic low since the poll began in 1992.

The Democrat base might like a New York socialist Ocasio-Cortez being the face of the party.

But she and her brand of socialism are political poison in the swing states and districts that Democrats need to win.

Republicans would be thrilled with Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez leading the Democrat Party moving forward.

Even a socialist like Morgan Harper knows that Ocasio-Cortez’s political appeal is limited outside the party’s base.
