Kari Lake is running for Senate out in Arizona.
The race is now mired in scandal, controversy, and death threats.
And a top Republican just did the unthinkable after this leaked audio of Kari Lake revealed one terrible ultimatum.
For any political party chair, there’s one thing almost all of them likely have in common.
And it’s that willingly giving up their positions is almost unthinkable.
Nevertheless, scenarios that might lead to losing their power probably haunt their thoughts.
It would be a good thing if they thought about such scenarios before committing the odious acts that are all too common among establishment elite party bosses Left and Right.
Arizona Republican Party Chairman Jeff DeWit is likely wishing he’d had that exact thought and thought twice before doubling crossing the Republican Parties conservative grassroots.
DeWit resigned one day after bombshell audio leaked, revealing he allegedly attempted to bribe Kari Lake to drop out of the Senate race.
In his resignation letter, DeWit offered up unsubstantiated claims that Lake set him up to make herself look good.
“I am truly unsure of its contents, but considering our numerous past open conversations as friends, I have decided not to take the risk,” DeWit wrote, adding that he was resigning “as Lake requested in the hope that she will honor her commitment to cease her attacks, allowing me to return to the business sector — a field I find much more logical and prefer over politics.”
DeWit claimed, without citing evidence, that it was “obvious from the recording that she crafted her performance responses with the knowledge that she was recording it, intending to use this recording later to portray herself as a hero in her own story.”
In the shocking recording, DeWit claims unnamed individuals wanted him dead.
“They’re gonna have — try to have me murdered,” DeWit began.
DeWit then told Lake that powerbrokers wanted her “on their team,” an offer Lake rejected, saying she was a conservative fighting for the Trump agenda.
“They want you to be on their team,” DeWit stated.
“But if they’re pushing a globalist agenda, I can’t do that. So what do they want? What do they want me to do?” Lake responded.
DeWit then told Lake that these unnamed elites were “willing to put their money where their mouth is in a big way.”
“Is there a number of which –” DeWit started to say.
“I can be bought?” Lake interjected.
“Well, it’s about you take a pause,” DeWit responded, explaining that this was an offer to get her to bow out of the Senate race and instead run for Governor in two years.
Then the conversation took a dark turn as Lake told DeWit he should go public with the pressure he was under, to which DeWit responded he couldn’t or these unnamed individuals would assassinate him with a car bomb.
“No, no, no, no,” DeWit replied, saying, “Then I turn the key in my car,” at which point a bomb would explode and kill him.
The Arizona Republican Party and Senate race are now in complete disarray.
Will Kari Lake be able to put the pieces back together in time to win a campaign that will allow the Republicans to retake the majority in the Senate?
