There are less than 40 days until Election Day.
Democrats look like they have an ace in the hole.
And a top pollster warned Sean Hannity Kamala Harris has this major edge on Trump.
The state of the raceĀ
The Real Clear Politics polling average shows Kamala Harris leading Donald Trump by two points.
In the battlegrounds, Real Clear Politicsā polling average shows Kamala Harris clinging to an 0.3% lead.
The polls are as close as can be with the Electoral College potentially coming down to just one state.
But pollster Robert Towey of Insider Advantage told Sean Hannity that Kamala Harris has a major advantage over Trump in terms of voter enthusiasm.
Towey warned that there was one slice of the electorate ā establishment Republicans who backed Donald Trump in 2016 but were skeptical today ā that wasnāt on board with the campaign and that Trump needed to find a way to turn into supporters.
āThe Democrats are beating them. And in terms of the enthusiasm gap, there is still a little bit of a gap. The Trump campaign needs to get the old Republicans that helped in 2016. Bring them back on board,ā Towey told Hannity.
The most recent Gallup poll found that Democrat enthusiasm to vote is just below the record level recorded in 2008 when Obama-mania swept across the party.
āDemocrats’ enthusiasm score is one point shy of the party’s high ā 79% in February 2008, during the Clinton-Obama primary. The group’s score, which includes Democratic-leaning participants, was 55% in March,ā Axios reported.
Republicans trailed by double digits on this metric.
āThe score for Republicans and GOP-leaning participants is at 64%, up from 59% in the spring,ā Towey added.
The voters Trump needsĀ
Towey told Hannity the type of voter Trump needs to reel back into his coalition are Nikki Haley primary voters.
Kamala Harris is trying to win these more establishment-oriented voters over by lining up endorsements from RINOs like Dick and Liz Cheney.
And even though Nikki Haley endorsed Donald Trump and spoke at the Republican National Convention, Haley is still trying to undermine Trump.
Haley began a podcast in Sirius XM and started the first episode by reopening old wounds from the GOP primary.
āBut I think that it’s also important to say that on this show, you’re not going to hear me say glowing things about Donald Trump’s personality. I have issues with him, as well. I have not forgotten what he said about me. I’ve not forgotten what he said about my husband or his, you know, deployment time or his military service. I haven’t forgotten about his or his campaign’s tactics from, you know, putting a bird cage outside our hotel room to calling me ‘bird brain,’ā Haley stated.
If Donald Trump is going to win in November, the polls show he will need a united and enthusiastic Republican Party.
If Nikki Haley is still dragging her feet on backing Trump and signaling to her voters that itās okay to have reservations about Trumpās personality, then a critical bloc of Republicans may stay home on Election Day.
