Donald Trump is fulfilling his campaign promises at warp speed.
One move is already paying off in spades.
And a Republican Governor revealed one fact about Donald Trump that stunned the media.
Texas Governor says illegal border crossings have plummeted under Donald Trump
Texas was ground zero for the border crisis under former President Joe Biden.
The state was overwhelmed by the record-breaking numbers of illegal aliens who were pouring across the southern border every day.
Eagle Pass, Texas, on the Mexican border, was one of the hardest-hit towns during the Biden Presidency.
In September 2023, more than 10,000 illegal aliens crossed the border into Eagle Pass in one day – a town of 28,000.
The Mayor declared a state of emergency because the city was being overwhelmed with illegal aliens.
Border Patrol agents were flooding the town with illegal aliens as part of Biden’s catch and release policy.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott deployed the National Guard and state law enforcement to the Mexican border as part of Operation Lone Star.
He said that President Donald Trump has helped Texas bring illegal immigration to a screeching halt in Eagle Pass during a speech at a conservative think tank in Austin.
“About two years ago in Eagle Pass, Texas, there’s a city park there that the Biden administration was processing up to 5,000 illegal immigrants a day,” Abbott said. “We shut that down by wiring it completely shut.”
Texas fenced off the area to prevent Biden’s Border Patrol from using it as a staging ground to process illegal aliens.
“And now there are crossing, on average, less than one person a day crossing in that area,” Abbott stated.
He told the crowd that illegal border crossings in Texas have dipped to 150 per day since Trump took office.
Illegal immigration has dropped dramatically under Donald Trump
Trump went to work on his first day in office firing off executive orders and actions to secure the border.
His crackdown on illegal immigration sent a message to would-be border crossers.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officials said that the number of illegal aliens apprehended trying to cross the southern border has fallen off significantly since Trump’s first full day in office.
“From Jan. 21 through Jan. 31, 2025, the number of U.S. Border Patrol apprehensions along the southwest border dropped 85% from the same period in 2024,” CBP said in a statement.
Abbott said that Texas and the Trump administration are poised to return calm to the border for the next four years.
“The border is in great hands for the next four years,” Abbott declared. “In four years, he is gone. He will do a great job over the next four years to make sure we secure the border. Our goal is to ensure that over the next four years, we do a great job of preparing the border for security for the next 40 years in the great state of Texas.”
Donald Trump’s swift action helped get the chaos at the southern border that Biden created under control.
