A Marine wife just delivered the news one major Trump enemy was hoping to never hear

Jun 21, 2025

The never-Trump crowd’s anti-Trump crusade got rolling with an extremely close connection to the Trump White House in the President’s first term.

Now an infamous leaker’s family just got some unwelcome news.

And it’s because a Marine’s wife just delivered the news this major Trump  enemy was hoping to never hear.

"Mom on a mission" takes aim at Trump foe

Republican Virginia State Senator Tara Durant announced her campaign for the U.S. House seat currently held by Democrat Representative Eugene Vindman on Wednesday.

Durant, a Marine wife and mother of three, calls herself a "conservative fighter" who’s ready to take on Washington, D.C.’s swamp creatures.

"I’m not a career politician — I’m a mom on a mission to secure our borders, restore law and order, and bring common-sense leadership to Washington," Durant said in a press release.

The Virginia State Senator has a clear message for the voters of Virginia’s 7th congressional district.

She’s running to champion President Trump’s America First agenda while Vindman has spent his time in Congress rubber-stamping the radical Left’s destructive policies.

"In Congress, I’ll fight to make our communities safer and secure our economic future," Durant explained. "That means building the wall and stopping taxpayer-funded benefits for illegal immigrants, fully funding our police to keep families safe, protecting girls’ sports by keeping biological boys out, and advancing pro-growth policies to lower costs, end reckless spending, and get our economy moving again."

Durant didn’t hold back when describing Vindman’s disastrous record in Washington, D.C.

"Eugene Vindman supported the radical Biden agenda every step of the way — from reckless spending to soft-on-crime policies that are putting our families at risk and driving our economy into the ground," Durant stated. "I’m running to build a brighter future, restore safety in our communities, and deliver the strong, growing economy Virginia families deserve."

Vindman’s anti-Trump crusade comes back to haunt him

Eugene Vindman has made a career out of attacking President Trump, following in the footsteps of his identical twin brother, retired Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Vindman.

The Vindman twins played a key role in the first impeachment proceedings against Trump in 2019.

Eugene Vindman helped his more famous twin brother report Trump’s July 25, 2019 phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, according to The Washington Post. Alexander Vindman listened to the call as part of his duties at the National Security Council, while Eugene received the report and advised both brothers to report it to senior White House lawyers due to its serious legal implications.

Trump has repeatedly denied that he committed any wrongdoing on the call.

The Democrat-controlled House used the call as grounds to impeach President Trump for the first time on charges of abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.

"Because we did not let Trump’s abuse of his office stand, he was impeached — and his vengeance cost us our careers when we were fired in retaliation," Vindman wrote in a fundraising message in September 2024, according to the Post.

The Vindman brothers built their entire political identity around their opposition to Trump.

Now that Trump is back in the White House with a mandate from the American people, Eugene Vindman’s anti-Trump record looks like a liability rather than an asset.

Durant brings real-world experience to the race

Unlike career politicians who make their living in Washington, D.C., Durant has real-world experience that resonates with Virginia families.

As a Marine wife and mother of three, she understands the challenges facing American families.

Durant served on the Virginia House of Delegates from 2022 to 2024 before winning election to represent Virginia’s 27th district in the State Senate in January 2024.

Her legislative experience shows she knows how to get things done for her constituents.

But more importantly, Durant represents the values that matter to Virginia voters – supporting law enforcement, securing the border, and putting America First.

That’s a stark contrast to Vindman, who spent his time in Congress supporting the Biden administration’s failed policies on everything from immigration to crime to the economy.

Vindman’s 2024 performance shows vulnerability

Eugene Vindman may have won his seat in 2024, but his performance revealed significant weaknesses that Durant can exploit.

In the 2024 election, Vindman won the open seat race against Republican nominee Derrick Anderson by 2.6 percentage points.

That narrow margin came despite Vindman outraising his Republican opponent by a 7 to 1 margin.

Vindman also slightly underperformed failed Democrat presidential nominee Kamala Harris, who won the district by just under 3 percentage points.

Those numbers show that Virginia’s 7th district is competitive territory, not the safe Democrat stronghold that Vindman might have hoped for.

With President Trump back in the White House and his America First agenda gaining momentum, Vindman’s anti-Trump record could be an even bigger liability in 2026.

Durant offers a clear choice for Virginia voters

The contrast between Durant and Vindman couldn’t be clearer.

Durant represents the values that built America – faith, family, and freedom.

She’s committed to securing the border, supporting law enforcement, and standing up for parents’ rights.

Vindman, on the other hand, represents the Washington, D.C. establishment that puts politics over the needs of working families.

He built his career on opposing Trump and supporting the radical policies that have made life harder for American families.

The 7th district was previously held by former Democrat Virginia Representative Abigail Spanberger, who is now her party’s nominee in the 2025 Virginia gubernatorial election.

That means the seat is open territory where Durant can make her case directly to voters without the advantages of incumbency working against her.

Virginia families deserve a representative who will fight for their interests, not someone who made his name by attacking the President they voted for.

Durant looks ready to be that fighter.
