Sex scandals in Washington, D.C., are as old as the republic.
But this one left Americans shaking their heads.
And a Democrat sex scandal led to this heart stopping decision on criminal charges.
Back in December, a Senate staffer filmed a gay sex video in the Hart Senate Office Building.
The Daily Caller published the video after it leaked from the group chat to which it was posted.
Maryland Democrat Senator Ben Cardin then announced that one of his staffers left his office for a personnel matter.
It wasn’t difficult to put two and two together.
This seemed like an open and shut case of a criminal act of public indecency.
But not in today’s weaponized justice system.
The Capitol Hill Police announced they wouldn’t press criminal charges against the staffer, even though the evidence of the act was on tape for all to see.
“After consulting with federal and local prosecutors, as well as doing a comprehensive investigation and review of possible charges, it was determined that — despite a likely violation of Congressional policy — there is currently no evidence that a crime was committed,” the Capitol Hill Police told Fox News.
“Although the hearing room was not open to the public at the time, the Congressional staffer involved had access to the room. The two people of interest were not cooperative, nor were the elements of any of the possible crimes met,” the statement from the Capitol Hill Police continued.
“The Congressional staffer, who has since resigned from his job, exercised his Fifth Amendment right to remain silent and refused to talk to us,” the statement concluded. “Our investigators are willing to review new evidence should any come to light.”
Conservatives couldn’t help but notice the double standard at work.
Joe Biden’s Justice Department hunted down every Trump supporter who strolled through the Capitol on January 6 and tried to throw them in prison for decades, claiming they were terrorists.

And after Joe Biden delivered a speech telling Americans he planned to make January 6 the centerpiece of his re-election campaign messaging, the Justice Department announced it intended to augment Biden’s political pitch to voters by arresting hundreds more nonviolents who never stepped foot in the Capitol because they “entered a restricted area” by crossing a barricade.
The decision of who to prosecute and who to let off based on their political affiliation is why an increasing number of Americans think there is a dual standard of justice in the United States.
