The View is where Democrats get their morning dose of anti-Trump ranting.
But it wasn’t always this way.
And Joy Behar was fuming when this Fox News star revealed she auditioned for The View.
Fox News contributor Kennedy tried out for The View
ABC’s The View has become indistinguishable from a show on MSNBC with the hosts ranting and raving about President Donald Trump every weekday.
Every host on the show is vehemently anti-Trump.
The daytime gabfest created by the late Barbara Walters used to include a hosting spot reserved for conservatives.
Hosts like Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Candace Cameron Bure filled that role.
The thought of someone on Fox News starring on The View seems unthinkable now.
But Fox News contributor Kennedy revealed that she once auditioned for the daytime talk show during an appearance on Gutfeld!
She told host Greg Gutfeld that she vied to replace former host Lisa Ling, who left at the end of 2002.
“Actually, I auditioned for The View in 2003 and went pretty far through the process and got along great because Star was there,” Kennedy said about former host Star Jones. “Barbara Walters was still alive, god rest her soul. She was lovely. Meredith Vieira was still there. We talked about conservative politics.”
Kennedy was the host of the Game Show Network’s Friend or Foe? at the time she was auditioning.
Kennedy spills the beans on Joy Behar
Joy Behar has been one of the hosts of The View since the show debuted in 1997.
Kennedy didn’t mince her words about her experience dealing with Behar when she auditioned for the show.
“Joy was a talking hemorrhoid in an auburn wig,” Kennedy said. “She was so ungracious and awful. And she had a comedy writer writing her little lines during the breaks. And I was like, she’s not even funny. Like she’s not reacting to anything.”
Behar didn’t appreciate Kennedy stepping on her turf by cracking some jokes.
“She’s not thinking in the moment. And then I made some jokes because it’s a conversational show before it became an unwatchable abortion, because usually there’s so much fun to watch. And she said to me during the break, ‘I’ll handle the comedy here.’ And I said, I said, great. Whenever you start like, I’ll ease up on the jokes,” Kennedy explained.
Elisabeth Hasselbeck eventually got the part that Kennedy auditioned for.
Behar may have tried her hand at comedy on the show at one point, but she’s devolved into a bitter person with a severe case of Trump Derangement Syndrome.
She recently said on the show she could be friends with a Trump supporter but she wouldn’t give them a kidney.
“I could be friends with a Trump supporter,” Behar ranted. “I won’t give them a kidney, but I could be friends with them. The thing about it is, it’s not just about politics, it’s about morality, ethics, it’s about cruelty, it’s about discrimination, and it’s about a lot of things, so those are personal human values.”
Kennedy would go on to host a show on Fox Business and lucked out by not getting picked by The View.
