Donald Trump has been battling the Republican establishment over his agenda.
He just delivered a knockout blow in front of the country.
And Donald Trump finished one fight with Mitch McConnell with this brutal smackdown.
Trump takes a victory lap over border security over the establishment
President Donald Trump used his joint address to Congress to highlight the remarkable turnaround at the southern border under his administration.
“Since taking office, my administration has launched the most sweeping border and immigration crackdown in American history,” Trump said. “And we quickly achieved the lowest numbers of illegal border crossers ever recorded.”
U.S. Customs and Border Protection announced in February the lowest number of illegal aliens apprehended at the southern border in history.
Trump issued a slew of executive orders on his first day in office to secure the southern border and sent the military there to help the Border Patrol.
“Over the past four years, 21 million people poured into the United States. Many of them were murderers, human traffickers, gang members, and other criminals from the streets of dangerous cities all throughout the world,” Trump stated.
“Because of Joe Biden’s insane and very dangerous open border policies, they’re now strongly embedded in our country, but we are getting them out, and getting them out fast,” Trump added.
The southern border being secured under Trump blew up the argument last year by the Republican establishment and Democrats that former President Joe Biden needed a phony border security bill to take action.
Trump noted the bill and the excuses made for Biden in his speech.
“The media and our friends in the Democrat Party kept saying, ‘We needed new legislation, we must have legislation to secure the border,’” Trump explained. “But it turns out all we needed was a new President.”
Trump dismantled Mitch McConnell and Democrats’ big lies about the border
RINO former Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) tasked RINO U.S. Senator James Lankford (R-OK) to draft a border security bill early last year that could get Democrat support.
This phony border security bill allowed nearly two million illegal aliens to enter the country every year and gave them work permits.
It would have made the border crisis worse and the few powers it gave former President Joe Biden he would have never used.
House Conservatives wouldn’t pass additional funding for the war in Ukraine – McConnell’s stated top priority for the country – without securing America’s border.
The fake border security bill was bait to get House conservatives to give more taxpayer money to secure Ukraine’s border.
RINO Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (R-LA) eventually passed more funding for Ukraine with the help of Democrats.
And the fake border security was pulled after Trump and conservatives led the charge against it.
But the damage was done.
Democrats used the Lankford bill to claim they supported border security and that Republicans killed on orders from Trump to keep the issue alive for the election.
Former Vice President Kamala Harris touted her willingness to sign the bill as proof she wasn’t soft on illegal immigration during the campaign.
The simple fix to the border crisis was a President who was willing to enforce immigration law.
