Pam Bondi is President Trump’s Attorney General.
Trump tasked Bondi with ending the weaponization of the government.
And Pam Bondi discovered Donald Trump has one awful regret about her.
Donald Trump’s regrets about Matt Gaetz
Attorney General Bondi wasn’t President Trump’s first choice to run the Justice Department.
Trump’s original pick was then Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz.
Gaetz played pivotal roles in defending President Trump during the Ukraine and impeachment hoaxes.
Gaetz also opposed funding for the war in Ukraine, as well as warrantless government spying that the Deep State used to target Trump’s Presidential campaign.
As Attorney General, Gaetz would give Trump a trusted ally who would clean out the Justice Department of the Deep State prosecutors that spent eight years trying to put him in jail, terrorized his supporters following January 6, and who would fight by his side in key battles against the Swamp on Ukraine funding and ending Section 702 of the FISA Act, which allows the government to spy on Americans without a warrant.
But Swamp RINOs like Mitch McConnell knew all that.
And enough Senate RINOs banded together to oppose Gaetz, latching on to a report by the House Ethics Committee.
The ethics committee report contained the same false allegations about Gaetz that the Biden Justice Department spent years investigating without brining any criminal charges.
After eight days as the nominee for Attorney General, Gaetz announced he was withdrawing from consideration saying the fake scandals were hurting Trump’s ability to set up his administration.
“I had excellent meetings with Senators yesterday. I appreciate their thoughtful feedback – and the incredible support of so many. While the momentum was strong, it is clear that my confirmation was unfairly becoming a distraction to the critical work of the Trump/Vance Transition,” Gaetz began.
Gaetz said that while he was ending his bid to be Attorney General, he was still committed to fighting for the Trump/Vance agenda.
“There is no time to waste on a needlessly protracted Washington scuffle, thus I’ll be withdrawing my name from consideration to serve as Attorney General. Trump’s DOJ must be in place and ready on Day 1,” Gaetz added.
“I remain fully committed to see that Donald J. Trump is the most successful President in history. I will forever be honored that President Trump nominated me to lead the Department of Justice and I’m certain he will Save America,” Gaetz concluded.
But now Donald Trump is reportedly having second thoughts about replacing Gaetz with Bondi.
All of the cabinet nominees the Swamp wanted to defeat – Pete Hegseth, Kash Patel, Tulsi Gabbard, and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. – won confirmation.
Trump is now wondering, had Gaetz stuck it out, if the President’s political machine and MAGA base could have forced the Swamp RINOs to support Gaetz knowing a vote against Gaetz meant a Trump endorsed Primary challenger the next time they ran for re-election.
“The President has told aides that he believes Gaetz would have ultimately been confirmed in spite of senators’ concerns about the former congressman’s sexual misconduct allegations,” the Daily Beast exclusively reported.
“The President has said he now feels they could have gotten Matt through,” a White House source told the Daily Beast. “He feels bad for him.”
For his part, Gaetz took the news in stride.
“We got an upgrade: @PamBondi,” Gaetz wrote on social media.
