White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre’s final press briefing proceeded like every other in her tenure.
It was a dumpster fire from start to finish.
And Karine Jean-Pierre insulted one ally in this embarrassing temper tantrum.
Karine Jean-Pierre slights colleagues
Thanks to Donald Trump, Israel and Hamas agreed to a six-week ceasefire deal that would see hostages released.
Trump warned there would be “hell to pay” if Hamas didn’t release hostages by January 20.
Hamas and Israel negotiated for 15 months to try and end this war – which began after Hamas slaughtered 1,200 Jews in the October 7 terrorist attack – but Joe Biden couldn’t close the deal.
It was only when Donald Trump got involved and issued ultimatums that Hamas and Israel finally put pen to paper on an agreement everyone hopes will end a war that never should have started in the first place.
State Department Spokesman Matthew Miller recognized this deal couldn’t have gotten done without Donald Trump’s involvement, calling it “critical.”
“Now, when it comes to the involvement of President-elect Trump’s team, it has been absolutely critical in getting this deal over the line. And it’s been critical because, obviously, as I stand here today, this administration’s term in office will expire in five days, and one of the things that we have always said about this deal is that when you get from stage one to stage two, that the United States, Egypt, and Qatar are the guarantors of this deal and Egypt and Qatar will push Hamas to stay at the bargaining table and to get from stage one to stage two and the United States will push Israel to stay at the bargaining table to get from phase one and phase two,” Miller stated.
Miller said that Donald Trump, as the incoming President, was the only one who Hamas and Israel could count on to keep America’s word as Joe Biden was a lame duck.
“So obviously those are promises we cannot make on behalf of the United States for any longer than the next five days. And so it’s critical that all of the parties to the agreement and the other mediators see that when the United States is in the room making commitments, those are lasting commitments that extend beyond this administration into the next one,” Miller added.
Karine Jean-Pierre’s petty behavior
A reporter asked Karine Jean-Pierre about Miller crediting President Trump for the cease fire in Gaza.
Jean-Pierre sloughed it off as comments from a “random person.”
“He’s literally your colleague,” the reporter reminded Jean-Pierre.
“I don’t know who this person is,” Jean-Pierre unbelievably replied.
Miller wasn’t the only colleague Jean-Pierre dissed.
Fox News White House correspondent Jacqui Heinrich reported that Jean-Pierre refused to let Biden National Security Council spokesman John Kirby appear at the briefing so she could hog the spotlight in announcing the cease fire deal even though it fell under Kirby’s purview.
“Sources familiar with the situation tell me KJP blocked John Kirby from briefing the press on the ceasefire, wanting to keep the spotlight to herself,” Heinrich wrote on X.
