Kellyanne Conway told this brutal truth about why Kamala Harris lost in November

Dec 18, 2024

The media is trying to figure out how they got the election so wrong.

But the Left is looking in all the wrong places for answers.

And Kellyanne Conway told this brutal truth about why Kamala Harris lost in November.

Kellyanne Conway says Kamala Harris was just a terrible candidate

Kamala Harris’ handlers – and the Democrat Party more broadly – thought that Kamala’s support for unrestricted abortion-on-demand up until birth would lead to a historic wave of female voters turning out.

Abortion and the eight-year smear campaign tarring Donald Trump as a rapist, a sexist, and an abuser of women was supposed to lead to the biggest gender gap in history that would put Kamala Harris in the White House.

It didn’t turn out that way as Donald Trump won in a landslide.

The Wall Street Journal’s Gerald Seib interviewed Conway about the election and brought up the fact that the much-ballyhooed gender gap never materialized.

Conway had a simple explanation for that.

Kamala Harris was a terrible candidate.

“The answer is two words: Kamala Harris. She did not run a good campaign. She’s not an informative, particularly informative or inspirational candidate. That is not an insult. I’m telling you the way that public received it,” Conway stated.

Kamala Harris’ handlers hid the candidate from interviews for as long as possible since she couldn’t speak without a script in front of her.

When Kamala finally did interviews, she botched even softballs, such as one on The View where she said she couldn’t think of a single thing she’d do differently than Joe Biden.

Conway said Kamala ran an awful campaign that was half about identity politics and half about the lie that Donald Trump incited an insurrection on January 6.

“And if you don’t believe me, go back and look at all the election results there. I think tough to digest and not see that this was a sweeping rebuke of, I think, her as a candidate, but also the campaign she ran, which was, seemed to be like, a little bit of a mishmash of identity politics,” Conway continued.

Kamala Harris’ failure

Democrats historically win women voters by double digits.

“You are not going to tell me anymore who I am, what I believe, and for whom I should vote based on my gender, my age, my religion. I’m going to make my own decisions. Joe Biden won by 13 points,” Conway added.

“President Obama beat Mitt Romney by 11 points among women. Did even better in eight against McCain. So for the female, for the female candidate of color who’s going to make history. Well, they’re peddling abortion as the top issue,” Conway continued.

But Democrats running a woman candidate making abortion her top issue only carried female voters by eight points.

“To only win by eight points that is a true devastation to the party. Why do women not come out? They did come out. We have been the majority of voters in presidential elections since 1964, and we just had the 16th consecutive election where we decide who the president is,” Conway stated.

Conway said this was a repudiation of the Democrat Party’s identity politics approach.

Democrats mistakenly thought women only cared about abortion much in the same way they incorrectly believed Hispanic voters only cared about amnesty for illegal aliens.

Kamala ignored the fact that women also cared about the border, the economy, and inflation.

Those were the issues Donald Trump stuck to.

And Conway said Democrats paid a major price for their misguided belief in identity politics.

“But we’re not going to be narrow casted. You’re not going to talk to us from the waist down only and expect us to vote for you. We want to talk to you from the waist up. Also with our brains, our eyes, our ears, our hearts and my big mouth is,” Conway concluded.
