Whoopi Goldberg was forced to take one drastic step to save “The View”

Whoopi Goldberg saw a problem developing before her eyes.

There wasn’t a choice about what needed to be done.

Whoopi Goldberg was forced to take one drastic step to save The View.

Whoopi Goldberg tries to rescue trainwreck segment

The View is crashing in the wake of the 2024 election.

Co-hosts are letting their anger and frustration fly.

The latest outburst came in a debate about Donald Trump naming Linda McMahon – wife of former WWE Chairman of the Board Vince McMahon – as his Secretary of Education.

Trump and McMahon pledged to end the public education monopoly and bring school choice to America.

Alyssa Farrah Griffin is the show’s fake conservative co-host.

But on this occasion, Griffin defended the conservative position that parents should have the option to pick the school of their choice for their child.

This enraged fellow co-host Sunny Hostin.

When The View returned from commercial, Goldberg told the audience that they were to engage in contentious debate and that differing opinions don’t mean you have to be disagreeable.

“We’re all here at the table and we’re having a conversation and we’re going to go back to it, but before we do, I just want to say this is the beauty of people who have different opinions and sometimes it’s messy. Sometimes we’re messy. And I don’t know if you noticed that when I came out this morning, I had trouble trying to figure out — because there was nothing in the [teleprompter]. There’s something in the air, so just know something is chewing on us,” Goldberg stated.

Hostin then began ranting false claims about how public school voucher programs don’t work and complained that McMahon only got the Department of Education post because of her past support for Trump.

“There is zero statistical significance that voucher programs improve overall student success, in fact, it’s quite the opposite. Research has shown that students who use those programs to leave a public school and attend a private school do worse academically,” Hostin declared.

Griffin disagreed and cited actual statistics from the D.C. charter school program that showed educational choice improved outcomes for students.

“I worked on the DC Opportunity scholarship program in Congress. That program alone, which is a charter school system, experienced a 21% increase in graduation rates. There are conflicting statistics, but according to Morning Consult the majority of Americans support health savings account vouchers and the taxpayer money following the students,” Griffin added.

Liberal hypocrisy on display

This argument ended up exposing the hypocrisy by the Left in the education debate.

Hostin argued she attended school in the Bronx and claimed the inequality in the education system was the real problem.

Griffin pointed out that Hostin attended a private school and now she wants to deny parents the ability to make the same choice her mother and father did about what school their kid should attend.

“But didn’t you get to go to a private school?” Griffin asked Hostin.

That led to even more heated crosstalk at which point Goldberg jumped in and ended the segment.

“Don’t make me shut this bad boy down again!” Goldberg stated. “People make the decisions they can make about what they can do. The problem with the school system is we allow failing schools because we don’t bolster them. We don’t pay teachers. We don’t take care of the students that need to be taken care of. I also — I’ve been in both. I’ve been in charter schools. I’ve been in public schools. I’ve been in private schools. People make the decisions they make. What I want to make sure of is that she doesn’t touch things and get rid of things.”
