Adam Schiff won’t give up the Russia collusion hoax
Adam Schiff took the country for a ride eight years ago with the Russia collusion hoax.
With the help of his media enablers, Schiff pushed the lie that Donald Trump and his campaign conspired with Russian President Vladimir Putin to rob Hillary Clinton of the Presidency.
Following Trump’s win on November 5, Schiff returned to the scene of the crime – no one did more to help Schiff launch the Russia collusion hoax than CNN’s Jake Tapper – for an interview to again claim Trump colluded with the Russians during the 2016 campaign.
Tapper used Tulsi Gabbard’s nomination to serve as the Director of National Intelligence to ask Schiff if he regretted pushing the Russia collusion hoax as aggressively as he did, citing the Mueller reports findings that there was no evidence of a conspiracy between the Trump campaign and Russia.
Schiff didn’t budge an inch and insisted his false claims of collusion between the Kremlin and Trump’s campaign were based in fact.
“You know, first of all, it wasn’t an overstatement. There is evidence of collusion. The Trump campaign manager was meeting with Russian intelligence and giving them internal polling data just to give you one example. The Mueller report sets all this out,” Schiff stated.
Tapper then tried to make it seem like the Mueller report backed up Schiff by saying the investigation said that just because it didn’t establish a conspiracy between the Trump campaign and Russia doesn’t mean that one didn’t exist.
“It does say, ‘The investigation did not establish that members of the Trump campaign conspired or coordinated with the Russian government in its election interference activities,’ which doesn’t mean that he didn’t know that there weren’t meetings,” Tapper replied.
Schiff grabbed on to this lifeline to again push the big lie that Donald Trump and Russia were in league during the 2016 election.
“He says that, too. He says the fact that we didn’t find proof beyond a reasonable doubt doesn’t mean there wasn’t evidence of conspiracy or coordination,” Schiff declared.
After Republicans won the majority in the House of Representatives in the 2022 election, the GOP booted Schiff from his seat on the House Intelligence Committee.
Republicans argued Schiff abused his power when he was the committee chair by using his access to the nation’s top secrets to lie about Donald Trump and Russia.
Therefore, Schiff couldn’t be trusted with access to classified intelligence.
The fact that Schiff is still an unrepentant Russia collusion hoaxer has conservatives saying the GOP Senate majority should follow suit and refuse to seat Schiff on the Senate Intelligence Committee.
