Democrats look for a scapegoat after Donald Trump wins the election
Former President Donald Trump completed the greatest comeback in American political history when he routed Vice President Kamala Harris in the election.
Democrats were in a state of stunned disbelief that Kamala lost every swing state and that the race was essentially over before midnight.
The aftermath of the election leads to an inevitable blame game where the party tries to figure out where it all went wrong.
One faction of the Democrat Party and the media is trying to pin the blame on President Joe Biden.
They claim that Kamala was put into a near-impossible position after being parachuted into the race so late.
MSNBC commentator Symone Sanders-Townsend – an advisor to Biden’s 2020 campaign – pointed the finger at Kamala for blowing the election during a segment on Morning Joe.
“You know, and some of these places that when you have $1 billion as the Presidential campaign,” Townsend said. “But you’ve got real groups out there who have been doing the organizing work for the last three cycles, including off years, and they can’t get money from the campaign, but the campaign put ads on the Sphere, that to me says we got to do some soul searching.”
Kamala struggled with black and Hispanic voters who either went for Trump or sat on the election.
Democrats complained that left-wing activist groups aimed at turning out voters in minority communities were underfunded.
Kamala raised more than $1 billion but didn’t send any money to groups that specialized in minority turnout.
But her campaign did pay for an ad on the Sphere attraction in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Don’t blame Joe Biden for everything going wrong
Townsend called out Kamala’s campaign for claiming they’d solved her problem with black voters.
“And the last point I’ll make is that, look, when for months strategists within the campaign are saying they believed that they had fixed their black people issue,” Townsend said. “You know it, they said it on background, or deep background, off the record, when they’re telling people that, that to me says you’re also woefully out of touch.”
Townsend said that the Vice President did her best but she had some bad strategy for her campaign.
“And again, the people that said Joe Biden was the problem… Where’s my camera?” Townsend said as she stared into the camera.
She said that Biden wasn’t the problem in this election.
“I will just note that it is probably not the best idea that Democrats orchestrated a very public stab fest, a proverbial stabbing in the front of the sitting president of the United States of America, and then didn’t use him in his hometown of Scranton, Pennsylvania!” Townsend exclaimed.
Democrats are going to try to blame someone for why they lost to Donald Trump.
The Biden and Kamala camps are already starting to point fingers at each other.
