By the tone of the recent press coverage, it’s clear the Kamala Harris campaign is in shambles.
POLITICO’s left-wing columnist Jonathan Martin authored a new piece whose central thesis is Kamala Harris needs to junk her entire strategy and cosplay as a moderate Republican for the final stretch of the campaign to try and fool voters into thinking she isn’t actually a radical leftist.
Martin went so far as to propose naming Mitt Romney as her Secretary of State.
“It’s the job Romney coveted enough to share that infamous frog leg dinner with Trump in 2016. And what better way to convey to middle-of-the-road voters that you mean what you say about putting Republicans in your government? It’s also not without precedent that a new Democratic president would include a Republican appointee in a high-ranking national security post: Barack Obama retained Robert Gates at the Pentagon, and during the Iraq War no less,” Martin wrote.
This isn’t the posture of a media confident of Kamala Harris’ chances of victory.
Speaking to reporters, Mitt Romney made it clear that he wants Kamala Harris to win the election.
“I think where I stand on Donald Trump is pretty clear,” Romney stated.
Romney delusionally claimed that if he just winked and nodded towards the idea without explicitly coming out and saying so, he could maintain some level of influence in a post-Trump GOP.
“I want to continue to have a voice in the Republican Party following this election because I think there’s a good shot the Republican Party is going to be rebuilt and reoriented either after this election or after Trump is reelected and is the President, and believe I’ll have more influence in the party by that virtue,” Romney declared.
The Left’s focus turned to Romney as the latest shiny object because everything Kamala Harris tried – having Liz and Dick Cheney endorsing her, going on a media blitz, and running hundreds of millions of dollars in television ads – failed to move the needle.
In fact, the polls of the key battleground states show her losing ground.
According to Quinnipiac, Trump now leads in Michigan and Wisconsin.

Donald Trump responds to Romney backing Kamala Harris
At a rally in Scranton, Pennsylvania, Trump responded to the idea of Mitt Romney backing Kamala Harris.
Trump roared to the crowd that he was happy to hold the door open so a RINO like Romney could just go be a Democrat.
“The amazing thing is a poll, the other day with Hispanics, for the first time ever, Trump is leading! Look at how beautiful. Trump is leading! Never happened,” Trump began.
Trump highlighted USA Today/Suffolk polls of Arizona showing him winning 51 percent of Latino men age 18-34 and 57 percent of Latino men age 35-49, and 53 percent of 18-34 year-old Latino men in Nevada to show how he’s grown the Republican Party as opposed to how Romney drove the party into a ditch, winning just 27 percent of Hispanics in 2012.
“I think stupid Mitt Romney was at like 4% [among Hispanic voters] or something. How about him? How do you like having him as a partner? Mitt Romney? Aren’t we glad we are getting him the hell out of here?” Trump added.
Romney – who supports unlimited funding for Ukraine and voted for Biden-Harris’ gun control and Green New Deal bills – is clearly more comfortable ideologically in the Democrat Party.
And while the RINOs like Romney drift over to the Democrat Party, Trump is expanding the GOP tent with historic support among Latinos.
