PETA Just Came After 49ers Star George Kittle for One Heroic Act That Every Normal American Needs to Read About

May 17, 2026

PETA reportedly killed over 2,000 cats and dogs last year – roughly six animals a day, every day.

Now they've issued an official statement condemning 49ers tight end George Kittle.

And what they're demanding he do differently will make your blood boil.

The Spider That Broke PETA's Heart

At 4 a.m. on May 13, San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle was asleep when his wife Claire woke him up.

There was a spider in the bathroom.

The size of a half dollar.

Kittle didn't hesitate.

He grabbed the slant board sitting next to his bed – the one he's been using to rehab a torn Achilles – and he handled the situation in one swing.

"It took but 1 attempt to strike down my opponent," Kittle posted on X.

"I received hugs and kisses for my bravery and fell back asleep with confidence."

His wife called it "disgusting" – then praised her "knight in shining armor."

The internet loved it.

Every husband who's ever been summoned at 2 a.m. to deal with a bug felt personally represented.

That's the man PETA decided to make their next target.

PETA Rode In With a Press Release

Twenty-four hours later, PETA's senior vice president Lisa Lange issued an official statement to a California newspaper.

Not about factory farming.

Not about the 2,174 animals their Norfolk, Virginia shelter killed in 2024 while adopting out exactly 45.

About the spider.

"There's no need for unnecessary roughness," Lange said, borrowing NFL terminology for full effect.

PETA called Kittle's midnight extermination an act of "unsportsmanlike conduct."

They asked the seven-time Pro Bowler to adopt a "live and let live approach."

They promised to mail him a humane bug catcher.

They suggested he try peppermint oil next time.

George Kittle – a man rehabbing a torn Achilles who got out of bed at 4 a.m. to protect his wife – is who PETA chose to make an example of.

This Is Exactly Who These People Are

PETA has given $70,000 to the legal defense of an animal rights arsonist convicted of firebombing a university.

They donated to the Earth Liberation Front – a domestic terrorist organization the FBI has actively monitored.

Their founder Ingrid Newkirk has called humans "the biggest blight on the face of the earth."

More than 51,000 animals have died inside PETA's own facility since 1998 – puppies euthanized in a mobile van before anyone could intervene, kittens barely six weeks old gone within minutes of arrival, healthy animals that donors believed were being saved.

But a spider got smashed in a California bathroom, so they needed to say something.

It's about reminding you that everything you do – how you eat, how you protect your home, how you show up for your wife at 4 a.m. – is subject to their approval.

George Kittle protected his wife and went back to sleep with confidence.

PETA sent a press release about a spider and mailed him a bug catcher.

One of these people has their priorities straight.
