A woman stood outside the Virginia Supreme Court on Thursday screaming "SHAME" at the building.
That same afternoon, former Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli walked to a camera and told Democrats exactly what just happened to them.
You need to see both.
Democrats Tried to Steal Four House Seats
The scheme took months to build.
Virginia Democrats pushed a redistricting amendment through the state legislature that would have redrawn the state's congressional maps from scratch.
Under the new lines, Democrats could have held as many as 10 of Virginia's 11 congressional seats – flipped from a current 6-to-5 Democratic edge into a near-total lockout of Republican representation.
The Democrat-controlled legislature violated Virginia's constitutional procedures when it placed the measure on the ballot.
On May 8, 2026, the Virginia Supreme Court's 4-3 majority ruled that the procedural violation killed the entire plan.
No new maps. No power grab. Gone.
Cuccinelli Said Three Words That Ended the Debate
Former Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli appeared on camera that same afternoon.
A reporter asked whether Virginia Democrats had any avenue to appeal.
Cuccinelli didn't hesitate.
"This is the end, folks," he said in a clip posted by C-SPAN.
"You will have the same map in 2026 for the congressional elections that existed in 2024. That is now unchangeable and immutable."
Virginia's constitution makes the state Supreme Court the final word on state constitutional questions – no federal workaround exists, no second ballot measure is possible before November, and the existing 6-to-5 map is now locked for the 2026 cycle.
The left's dream of a 10-to-1 supermajority died in a 4-3 vote over whether Democrats followed the rules when they rewrote the map.
They didn't.
What Four Stolen Seats Would Have Meant
Virginia's 11 congressional seats sit inside a House of Representatives where Republicans currently hold a narrow majority.
A 10-to-1 Virginia delegation flipping four seats to Democrats would have been one of the single largest single-state swings of the entire 2026 cycle – handing Nancy Pelosi's allies the margin they needed to reclaim the gavel and put a wall in front of Donald Trump's second-term agenda.
Democrats have run this play before.
North Carolina Democrats attempted a mid-decade gerrymander in 2023 before the state Supreme Court reversed itself under a newly elected Republican majority and reinstated the original maps.
Virginia's court just did the same thing from the other direction – and unlike North Carolina, the ruling came before any new maps ever took effect.
The voters who spent three years being told that election integrity concerns were paranoid just watched a Democrat-controlled legislature get caught violating constitutional procedures in a redistricting power grab. That's a court ruling, not a talking point.
The Left Melts Down on the Courthouse Steps
While Cuccinelli was calmly explaining the finality of the decision, a woman stood outside the Virginia Supreme Court screaming at the building.
"SHAME!!! SHAME on EVERY SUPREME COURT JUSTICE who voted to take away OUR rights as a people!!!"
Journalist Nick Sortor captured the moment on video. It passed 527,000 views.
This is what the left looks like when the rules they tried to bend snap back.
Four House seats – gone.
A 10-to-1 majority – gone.
Any path to appeal before 2026 – gone.
And all they have left is a woman on courthouse steps screaming at a building that isn't listening.
